Trump Receives Another Nobel Peace Prize Nomination

Republican Representatives Andy Ogles (TN) and Marlin Stutzman (IN) have sent a letter to the Nobel Committee, nominating President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“We respectfully submit this nomination of President Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of his concrete contributions to international fraternity, his leadership in reducing conflict and the risk of war, and his commitment to fostering dialogue as a path toward reconciliation,” the congressmen wrote in a letter obtained by Fox News. “His decisive leadership in securing landmark diplomatic agreements, de-escalating global conflicts, and actively pursuing peaceful resolutions to some of the world’s most entrenched disputes has led and continues to lead to a more peaceful world.”

“President Trump’s tenure—both in his first term as the 45th President of the United States and in his current service as the 47th—has been marked by historic achievements in international diplomacy,” the letter reads, listing Trump’s accomplishments such as the Abraham Accords, the Washington Agreement, engagement with North Korea, as well as facilitating arrangements with other countires, such as the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, direct engagement with those invovled in the Gaza conflict, as well as promoting dialogue between Russia and Ukraine.

The nomination letter commends Trump’s “consistent philosophy: that peace is best secured through strength, clarity, and direct engagement,” explaining that the president has “shown a unique ability to bring adversaries to the table, to create openings where diplomacy had long failed, to achieve tangible outcomes while avoiding large-scale new U.S. troop deployments, and to bring greater fraternity among nations historically at odds with one another.”

Trump has received several nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize, including by CambodiaIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA). Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also suggested she may nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he ends the war in Ukraine.
