Leading evangelical voices across the U.S. are reaffirming their trust in President Donald Trump’s support for Israel as the Jewish state fights a growing war with Iran. These faith leaders cite biblical promises and shared democratic values as key reasons for standing firmly with Israel.
Dr. Mike Evans, founder of Friends of Zion, pointed to the Bible as the foundation for evangelical support. “Jesus said, ‘You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria,’” Evans said. He added, “President Trump won because of the Evangelical vote… and we are Bible believers.” Evans praised Trump’s Iran policy, calling it “brilliant because he’s giving Iran a way out,” while also warning that “they will have hell to pay” if they strike U.S. targets.
Pastor John Hagee, founder of Christians United for Israel, also credited President Trump’s resolve. “I do not think President Trump will allow himself to be played by Iranian negotiators or American isolationists,” Hagee said. He urged evangelicals to contact Trump and thank him for supporting Israel: “We must stand with Israel today and every day.”
Franklin Graham reinforced the biblical foundation for Israel’s claim to the land: “Every inch of that land belongs to the Jews.” He emphasized Israel’s role as the Middle East’s only democracy.
Evans concluded, “If they have to choose between God’s word and anyone else’s, they will choose God’s word.”
