Former President Donald Trump recently asserted that billionaire activist George Soros and his family are intensifying efforts to prevent his potential return to the presidency in 2024.
This statement emerged after an op-ed by Alex Soros, son of George Soros and chairman of the Open Society Foundations (OSF), appeared in Politico.
Trump’s correspondence with supporters highlighted a headline from the Post Millennial which stated, “George Soros’ son shifts priorities, resources to focus on defeating MAGA in 2024,” Newsmax is reporting.
In his message, Trump emphasized, “Soros is desperate to stop us,” and remarked that “his dynasty is pouring millions into ‘defeating MAGA’ in 2024.”
He further claimed, “The Soros Dynasty just revealed their new plan for 2024: spend whatever it takes to try and stop the people from having a voice in their own country.”
In the Politico piece, Alex Soros elaborated on his foundation’s pivot from some European projects.
He expressed concerns, stating, “I believe a MAGA-style Republican victory in next year’s U.S. presidential election could, in the end, be worse for the EU than for the U.S.”
He also asserted that such an outcome “will imperil European unity and undermine the progress achieved on many fronts in response to the war in Ukraine.”
Consequently, he explained, “We are shifting our priorities in Europe accordingly,” and mentioned, “Yes, this means we will be exiting some areas of work as we focus on today’s challenges, as well as those we will face tomorrow.”
Trump, in his communication, pointed to the considerable financial resources mobilized by Soros.
He wrote, “George Soros has already spent $50 million to buy the White House in 2024 – and a Soros-linked Super PAC has also spent $75 million.”
He went on to label George Soros as the “SINGLE BIGGEST DONOR in American politics – of either party,” while emphasizing his son’s intention “to spend millions more, all to stop our beautiful movement.”
In concluding his appeal, Trump suggested that his presidency was a challenge to entrenched interests, stating, “These shadowy special interests know that our movement is the single greatest threat to their grip on power.”
He encouraged his supporters with the notion that “Together, we can outraise Soros and stop his dynasty from buying the White House in 2024.”
