Trump Celebrates Supreme Court Dismissal of Biden Business Vax Mandate

Donald Trump issued a statement in support of the Supreme Courts’ decision to shut down Biden’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Former President Donald Trump celebrated the Thursday decision by the United States Supreme court to put an end to one of the Biden administration vaccine mandates.
  • According to The National File, Trump called the mandate requiring businesses with more than 100 employees to adhere to vaccine or testing and masking mandates, unconstitutional.
  • The former president also said that Biden has not followed through on his campaign promise to fix the coronavirus pandemic but has damaged the economy without fixing the issue with the virus.
  • Trump also congratulated the Supreme Court for standing its ground in the face of mandates and a tough defense by the Executive Branch of government.
IN TRUMP’S OWN WORDS:
  • “The Supreme Court has spoken, confirming what we all knew: Biden’s disastrous mandates are unconstitutional. Biden promised to shut down the virus, not the economy but he has failed miserably on both—and mandates would have further destroyed the economy,” wrote the former President in a statement released by his Save America PAC.
  • Trump previously reasserted his belief in Americans rights to turn down the vaccine saying, “I believe totally in your freedoms. I do. You’ve got to do what you have to do But, I recommend: take the vaccines. I did it. It’s good. Take the vaccines,” said President Trump followed by loud boos from the crowd.
  • “You got, no, that’s okay, that’s alright,” said Trump. “You got your freedoms, but I happen to take the vaccine. If it doesn’t work, you’ll be the first to know. Okay? I’ll call up Alabama and say ‘hey, you know what?’ But it is working. But uh, you do have your freedoms. You have to keep, you have to maintain that. You have to maintain that, and you gotta get your kids back to school.”
BACKGROUND:
  • Trump was the first president to attempt to stem the tide of the coronavirus, trying to stop the spike of cases by shutting down international travel and facilitating the program to create the COVID-19 vaccinations, as The New York Post reported.
  • The former president believes so much in the vaccine program he bragged about receiving a COVID-19 vaccine booster during a recent appearance with former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, which garnered him a negative reaction from the audience.
