In a scathing press release on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump accused the Biden administration of recklessly leading the United States toward World War III by sending cluster munitions to Ukraine amidst an ongoing conflict.
The former president emphatically stated, “Joe Biden should not be dragging us further toward World War III—he should be trying to END the war.”
Trump took aim at Biden’s decision to send cluster bombs to Ukraine, warning that the unexploded munitions “will be killing and maiming innocent Ukrainian men, women, and children for decades to come, long after the war—we pray—has ended.”
His critique goes on to link this move with an alleged depletion of U.S. military resources, pointing out that the move to send munitions could imply a lack of ammunition at home.
According to Trump, if the United States is “running out of ammunition” as he claimed Biden “inadvertently admitted,” it could be seen as a “great breach of classified information.”
Trump declared this to be a sign of the administration’s incompetence and stressed the “urgency of immediately deescalating this bloody, dangerous, and out of control conflict.”
The former President further stated that “there could be no more vivid proof that Joe Biden’s policy of endless war in Ukraine has tremendously weakened the United States than the humiliating admission that the USA is now out of ammo.”
Trump described this as an “admitted” weakness that serves as “an invitation to enemies all over the world.”
He characterized Biden as “needlessly and dangerously leading us into World War III, which would be a nightmare beyond imagination—obliteration!”
Trump’s press release called for immediate action to “stop this insanity,” insisting on the need to end the bloodshed in Ukraine and refocus on “America’s vital interests.”
He emphasized the necessity to “completely rebuild our depleted military so it is once again so strong—like it was just 3 years ago when I rebuilt it—that no nation would even think of threatening our people.”
In a nod to his possible political future, Trump ended his statement hinting at the upcoming Presidential election in 2024, stating that “We must have ‘PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH’ and in a short time, the Presidential election of 2024 will produce that result.”
Meanwhile, and also on Tuesday, the former president received endorsements from all six members of Michigan’s Republican delegation in the House, The Hill reports.
GOP Reps. Tim Walberg, Bill Huizenga, John Moolenaar, Jack Bergman, Lisa McClain and John James declared their support for the former president in the 2024 Republican primaries.
All of them will serve as the leaders of Trump’s Michigan federal leadership team, according to the report, working to try to help Trump win the state’s electoral votes.
