Trump Beats Biden in Hypothetical 2024 Match-Up: CAPS-Harris Poll

A recent Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, released exclusively to The Hill on Friday, has shown former President Trump surpassing President Biden and Vice President Harris in hypothetical 2024 election match-ups.

The poll reveals that 46 percent of respondents would choose Trump over Biden if the election were to take place today, while 41 percent would opt for the incumbent president.

The remaining 13 percent were undecided or unsure.

When comparing Trump and Harris, the poll indicates that Trump would secure 49 percent of the vote, with Harris garnering 39 percent support.

Thirteen percent of respondents remained uncertain or did not know whom they would vote for.

In the Republican race, Trump remains the top contender, as the poll suggests that in a speculative eight-candidate primary, 37 percent of respondents would cast their vote for him.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) trails with 19 percent, a decrease from his previous standing in earlier polls.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who recently launched her presidential bid, has garnered 7 percent of the vote.

Haley’s announcement, widely considered successful, has boosted her standing in the GOP primary, elevating her to third place in a race without Trump’s participation.

Another new poll of Republican primary voters reveals that Trump is leading DeSantis by 36 points.

According to a CBS News-YouGov poll released on Monday, Trump is ahead of his hypothetical GOP primary rivals with 58 percent of the vote, while DeSantis trails behind with 22 percent.
