Former President Donald J. Trump on Tuesday detailed his plan to rebuild America’s military in a video for his “Agenda47” plan, aiming to tackle the current recruitment crisis and rejuvenate the cultural honor of America’s armed forces.
Trump presented a critical assessment of the current administration’s approach to foreign policy, stating, “In a period of less than one week, Joe Biden accidentally admitted that we’re sending cluster bombs to Ukraine because the United States is running out of ammunition. I don’t know how that works, but that’s what he said.”
Trump claims the country is running low on resources, saying, “The arsenals are empty, the stockpiles are bare, the Treasury is drained, the ranks are being hollowed out.”
He blames this on President Joe Biden, who he accuses of leading the country towards World War III.
The former president aims to restore his “America First” foreign policy, placing U.S. interests at the forefront.
He stated, “When I’m back in the White House, on Day One, we are returning to a foreign policy that puts America’s interests first.”
Moreover, Trump expressed his frustration over Europe’s inadequate financial support for the Ukrainian conflict, stating, “The fact is that we’ve spent almost $200 billion in helping Ukraine and Europe has spent just a tiny fraction of that amount.”
Trump’s plan would involve asking Europe to reimburse the U.S. for the cost of rebuilding the stockpiles sent to Ukraine.
In addition to reinvigorating the defense industry, Trump aims to address the military recruitment issue.
He laid the blame for the recruitment crisis on Biden’s “woke policies and political purges,” claiming these have dissuaded patriots from serving.
In Trump’s view, restoring the armed forces’ cultural honor will involve eliminating certain political ideologies from the military’s ranks.
He asserted, “I will restore the proud culture and honor traditions of America’s armed forces. And there will be no Marxism allowed, no communism allowed, and we’ll get rid of the fascists.”
Trump concluded his announcement by promising to “provide record funding” for the military, insisting on more return on each dollar spent, and outlining a plan for a more efficient and cost-effective defense industry.
