Trans Athlete Wins Race After Girls Refuse to Compete

A trans-identifying biological male athlete won a women’s race in New York after two girls refused to compete, The Blaze reports.

Twenty-one-year-old Camden Schreiner, who goes by “Sadie,” finished in first place in the women’s 400-meter dash during the USA Track and Field Open Masters Championships in Staten Island, New York.

Teenagers Anna Vidolova, 17, and Amaris Hiatt, 16, were listed as “DNS,” or “Did Not Start.”

The USATF policy on transgender athletes requires that “certain medical benchmarks” be met. “The intent of this policy is to establish competitive eligibility and to help ensure fair competition. The policy also contains safeguards to protect the privacy of any athlete(s) making the request for eligibility,” the guidelines state.

The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) recently announced that Schriener would no longer be competing for the women’s track and field team in compliance with President Donald Trump’s executive order protecting women’s sports. A spokesperson confirmed to Fox News that RIT will “continue to follow the NCAA participation policy for transgender student-athletes following the Trump administration’s executive order. Sadie is not participating in the next meet.”

Trump’s order said that allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports is “demeaning, unfair, and dangerous to women and girls, and denies women and girls the equal opportunity to participate and excel in competitive sports.”

“[I]t is the policy of the United States to rescind all funds from educational programs that deprive women and girls of fair athletic opportunities, which results in the endangerment, humiliation, and silencing of women and girls and deprives them of privacy,” the order added. “It shall also be the policy of the United States to oppose male competitive participation in women’s sports more broadly, as a matter of safety, fairness, dignity, and truth.”
