Toyota is the latest company to be condemned over its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies.
Conservative activist Robby Starbuck revealed in a report on X that the company conducts DEI training, supports LGBTQ efforts, and pushes gender ideology.
Starbuck detailed in his report that Toyota has donated to groups supporting child gender transitions, including the HRC, the Trevor Project, the Dallas Resource Center, the Los Angeles LGBT Center, and the Workplace Equality Summit
“To put it mildly, Toyota seems to have forgotten who their core customers are. They depend on American families and Japanese families to buy their cars. It’s time to remind them who their customers are,” Starbuck wrote on X.
“I don’t think the values at corporate reflect the values many Toyota/Lexus owners have (with the exception of maybe Prius owners who probably like the woke stuff). Do Toyota/Lexus owners want the money they spend with Toyota to be used later by corporate to push an ideology that’s diametrically opposed to their own values?”
Toyota is a self-described “committed champion of diversity and inclusion,” according to a corporate page on its website.
The company’s Chief Diversity Officer, Sandra Phillips Rogers, said that diversity is Toyota’s “North Star.”
“Respect for people is in the fabric of our culture,” she said. “It creates the framework, and it’s a commitment that the company has made over a number of years. It’s a centering principle.”
