Third Body Found From Baltimore Bridge Collapse

A third body has been found at the site of last week’s bridge collapse in Baltimore.

“While I take solace in knowing this brings us one step closer to closure, my heart continues to be with all the families still waiting anxiously for their loved ones,” Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott said in a statement.

Identified as 38-year-old Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, the worker’s body was found around 10:30 a.m.

Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed after being hit by a cargo ship last month sending at least eight people from a construction crew into the water as a large section of the bridge crashed into the Patapsco River.

The ship, traveling at a rapid speed of about eight knots, lost power in the moments before it struck the bridge.

Although it is unclear what caused the accident, Moore said that the ship made a mayday call just ahead of the accident and crew aboard the ship told authorities they lost power moments beforehand.
