‘The Hill’ Mentions AOC as Possible 2028 Democratic Contender

“The Hill” brought up the possibility of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as a potential contender for the 2028 Democrat Presidential nomination.

Amie Parnes, a senior congressional correspondent for The Hill, recently included Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as one of seven potential Democratic contenders for the 2024 presidential nomination.

A Democratic strategist, speaking anonymously, praised Ocasio-Cortez for her ability to “cut through the BS and tell it like it is,” adding that her communication style “doesn’t talk like Washington.”

Ocasio-Cortez, a leader of the party’s far-left progressive wing, has championed policies that many view as extreme and out of touch with mainstream America.

Her inclusion on the list comes after Vice President Kamala Harris, described as the most progressive and radical Democratic presidential nominee in history, suffered a resounding defeat to President-elect Donald Trump in the recent election.

This loss has prompted both voters and some Democratic strategists to question whether the party’s embrace of radical progressive policies played a significant role in alienating large portions of the electorate.

As Democrats consider their path forward, the tension between appealing to the progressive base and winning over moderate voters remains a key challenge.
