Texas Has Transported Over 28,000 Migrants to Sanctuary Cities

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) revealed on Friday that his administration has relocated more than 28,000 migrants to various sanctuary cities across the United States to alleviate the pressure on border towns.

The information was disclosed through a tweet that outlined the numbers transferred to each city.

The Governor explained that his state had sent “Over 10,600 to DC,” marking the nation’s capital as the city receiving the highest number of migrants.

This was closely followed by New York City, which was stated to have received “over 10,500.”

Chicago, the third most significant city in the tally, welcomed “over 4,300.”

Abbott also disclosed that “over 2,000” migrants were sent to Philadelphia, “over 350” to Denver, and “over 240” to Los Angeles.

The Governor’s tweet represents a transparency push regarding the handling of the ongoing migrant crisis at the Texas border, stating, “Texas has bused over 28,000 migrants to sanctuary cities to relieve overwhelmed, overrun border communities.”

Abbott’s decision to publicize these figures seems to be a strategic move aimed at highlighting the impact of border crises on Texas and its attempt to manage the situation by redistributing the immigrant population.

The action to transport migrants to sanctuary cities, as indicated in the tweet, is a way to “relieve overwhelmed, overrun border communities.”
