Taxpayer Dollars Fund Race-Based Programs in U.S. Military, Investigation Shows

Documents uncovered by The Daily Wire, originally accessed via the Functional Government Initiative, disclose that the Defense Department under the Biden-Harris administration has directed substantial public funds towards external entities for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) measures.

This includes the development of programs focused on race and sex-based affirmative action within the U.S. military, working alongside various academic bodies and consultancy firms.

These revelations underscore the Pentagon’s commitment to integrating a politically progressive, race-conscious framework across military operations, relying on external partnerships to craft recruiting initiatives that prioritize racial and gender diversity, shape DEI policy frameworks, and tackle any institutional or broader opposition to these strategies.

The disclosure forms part of a broader critique against the current administration’s efforts to weave DEI principles into the fabric of federal operational standards, including military practices.

Opponents argue that such a focus diverts attention from essential military conditioning and preparedness, potentially undermining public confidence in military service at a time when recruitment numbers are flagging, thereby posing risks to national security.

The Functional Government Initiative has openly criticized the Department of Defense (DOD) for its perceived shift towards political objectives over combat readiness.

Globally, the urgency for heightened military vigilance is growing. However, according to FGI spokesman Peter McGinnis, the DOD appears more consumed by its DEI agenda than by the imperative of military efficiency and unity.

McGinnis expresses concern over the shift towards ideology-driven training, which could alienate those who join the forces with the intent of national service rather than participation in ideologically charged programming.

Moreover, the Defense Department has engaged academies in developing DEI-centric career pathways, including initiatives that explicitly disadvantage white males in favor of women and minorities.

The University of Missouri Kansas City received $760,000 from the Navy to create a DEI-tailored program particularly favoring underrepresented groups in STEM fields seeking DOD positions, with program designers candidly admitting the race and sex-based preferential treatment.

Cornell University was awarded approximately $202,000 by the Defense Department to offer diversity training aimed at combating bias and promoting inclusivity within the ranks, designed to benefit around 70,000 Air Force Materiel Command employees.

Further, the RAND Corporation collaborated with the Pentagon to address and mitigate internal resistance to DEI efforts, with their report highlighting an uptick in opposition to diversity policies alongside “White fatigue”.

In 2021, the DEI consulting firm BCT Partners was contracted for nearly $2 million to devise a “DEI Action Plan” for schools operated by the DOD. BCT’s guidelines echo typical DEI rhetoric, touching on issues like systemic racism and microaggressions within the context of American society and the educational ecosystem.

This pattern of financial allocations and policy directives aligns with the Biden-Harris tenure’s broader strategy of infusing DEI principles across various federal sectors, including intelligence and the wider bureaucratic landscape, manifested in requests for nearly $270 million to fund these initiatives over a three-year span.

President Biden has also ratified several executive orders to cement this progressive ideology within federal operations, even extending to gender transition support within federal establishments.
