Border Patrol agents in South Texas uncovered a harrowing smuggling attempt Wednesday after discovering seven illegal aliens sealed into a hidden compartment beneath a flatbed trailer. The discovery occurred after the truck’s driver, attempting to evade law enforcement, crashed into a ranch fence near Laredo and fled on foot.
Federal authorities have arrested eight individuals connected to a large-scale smuggling ring that allegedly brought counterfeit and illegal goods worth $200 million into the United States through the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
