Former NASCAR and IndyCar star Danica Patrick has stepped into the heated feud between Riley Gaines and Simone Biles, openly siding with Gaines and criticizing Biles’ defense of trans women in women’s sports.
Larry Nassar, who had been a doctor for US Olympic gymnasts, was sentenced in 2017 to 60 years in prison for possessing child sex abuse material, and receiving the following year additional sentences of 175 years and up to 125 years for molesting female gymnasts that he had overseen.
Simone Biles won the bronze medal in the balance beam competition on Tuesday, scoring another medal for Team USA after stepping aside from several Tokyo Olympics competitions for mental health-related reasons.
