"Unfortunately, many malicious actors, especially federal bureaucrats, are bent on undermining the First Amendment and censoring Americans at every turn."
The individuals—Gabriel Rench, Sean Bohnet, and his wife Rachel Bohnet—had initiated a civil lawsuit against the city, claiming their First Amendment rights were violated during a religious gathering in 2020.
"In place of the unannounced visits, revenue officers will instead make contact with taxpayers through an appointment letter, known as a 725-B, and schedule a follow-up meeting," a press release reads. "This will help taxpayers feel more prepared when it is time to meet."
