Several U.S. states are considering legislation that would ban various snack foods and candy that have been linked to health problems, including cancer.
Democratic California legislator Jesse Gabriel, who introduced a law banning the chemicals found in Skittles candy, is now pushing to ban certain food dyes in schools.
A new report, described as “the most rigorous assessment of the behavioral effects of food dyes ever conducted,” is based on a review of the results of 27 clinical trials in children performed on four continents over the last 45 years.
