President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United Nations must become more involved in establishing global peace, following U.S.-led efforts to halt renewed violence between Thailand and Cambodia.
Thailand launched air strikes along its border with Cambodia on Monday just weeks after the two countries signed a peace agreement led by President Trump.
Cambodia will nominate President Donald Trump for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his role in brokering peace between Cambodia and Thailand. Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol confirmed the nomination at a press conference, praising Trump’s intervention during a border conflict that killed dozens and displaced over 260,000 civilians.
