Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott is urging President Donald Trump to ban AR-15 rifles as part of a broader push to address violent crime in U.S. cities. Appearing Tuesday on CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper, Scott said, “The president could also do some very simple things for us, Jake. Not just for Baltimore, but for the whole country… The president can say, no one will no longer be able to go into a store and buy an AR-15.”
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers intercepted a significant drug smuggling attempt at the Port of Baltimore, seizing on April 29, over 200 pounds of marijuana concealed within a shipment of men's overalls.
A Baltimore judge ruled Thursday that convicted killer Adnan Syed will not serve additional prison time for the 1999 murder of his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee. Syed, now 43, was sentenced to life in prison in 2000 but was released in 2022 after his conviction was vacated.
