Republican lawmakers from three swing states are drafting bills to remove President Joe Biden from the ballot.
State representatives Aaron Bernstine (R-PA), Charlice Byrd (R-GA), and Cory McGarr (R-AZ) are drafting bills for their states to remove Biden from the state ballot.
“Today, we are joining forces to introduce legislation to REMOVE Joe Biden from the ballot in Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania,” the lawmakers wrote. “The absurdity of radical Democrat judges removing Donald Trump from the ballot in Colorado will be a stain on the American political system for decades. By their very own interpretation of the law, Joe Biden is 100% not eligible to run for political office.”
“Democrats’ insane justification to remove Trump can just as easily be applied to Joe Biden for his ‘insurrection’ at the southern border and his alleged corrupt family business dealings with China.
“Colorado radicals just changed the game and we are not going to sit quietly while they destroy our Republic. To be clear, our objective is to showcase the absurdity of Colorado’s decision and allow ALL candidates to be on the ballot in all states,” they continued. “To do that, we must fight back as Republicans against the communists currently running our great country.”
Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick (R) also entertained the idea of removing Biden from the ballot.
“Seeing what happened in Colorado tonight … makes me think — except we believe in democracy in Texas — maybe we should take Joe Biden off the ballot in Texas for allowing 8 million people to cross the border since he’s been president, disrupting our state far more than anything anyone else has done in recent history,” he said in an interview with Fox News’s Laura Ingraham.
The measures come as the Supreme Court of Colorado decided to remove Donald Trump from the state’s GOP Primary ballot.
Michigan, Oregon, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Alaska, Arizona, Nevada, New York, New Mexico, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming, have efforts to remove Trump from the ballot.
California’s Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis (D) is also pushing the Secretary of State, Dr. Shirley N. Weber (D), to ban Trump from the state’s 2024 presidential primary ballot.
Kounalakis sent a letter to Weber, urging her to “explore every legal option” to remove Trump from the ballot.
“I am prompted by the Colorado Supreme Court’s recent ruling that former President Donald Trump is ineligible to appear on the state’s ballot as a Presidential Candidate due to his role in incising an insurrection in the U.S. on January 6, 2021. This decision is about honoring the rule of law in our country and protecting the fundamental pillars of our democracy.”
