Texas Majority PAC, a Soros-backed group, has increased its efforts to turn Texas blue.
Between July 1 and Sept 26, the PAC spent more than $5 million on the initiative, a significant increase from the six figures it often spends, The Daily Caller reported.
A campaign spokesperson for Senator Ted Cruz (R) told the outlet that “George Soros and the Democrats have known for years that if they flip Texas they change the course of our country forever, and that starts with unseating Sen. Cruz.”
“The stakes could not be higher. Soros will continue flooding the State with outside money, which is why Texans need to show up on November 5th to hold the line and ensure that Texas remains our nation’s conservative stronghold,” the spokesperson continued.
The Dallas County Democrats took about $1 million of the PAC’s spending.
According to the PAC’s website, the Texas Majority PAC is a “project dedicated to electing a Democrat to statewide office in Texas.”
