Sheetz Slashes Gasoline Prices to $1.776 per Gallon on 4th of July

In an impressive display of patriotism, Sheetz, the family-owned convenience store chain, is commemorating this year’s Fourth of July by slashing gasoline prices to $1.776 per gallon for almost all fuel grades, in a tribute to the year 1776—the year the United States Declaration of Independence was adopted.

Unlike previous instances where only select fuel grades received price cuts, this time, Sheetz is rolling out the remarkable discount on regular, E85 (flex fuel), unleaded 88, mid-grade, and premium fuel grades.

The only exclusion will be diesel fuel.

This massive price reduction is a sharp deviation from the current national average gas price of $3.53 per gallon, as reported by AAA as of June 3.

Travis Sheetz, President and CEO of Sheetz, expressed the company’s intent behind the initiative, stating, “Sheetz is a family owned and operated company and we are always looking for ways to assist the communities and customers that we serve.”

He continued, “We hope this discount helps our customers keep a little more change in their wallets as they travel to celebrate the 4th of July with friends and family, with an obvious nod to our nation’s birthday.”

The discounted gas price will only be available for the Fourth of July starting from 12:01 a.m. until the end of the day, or until the promotional gallons run out, Sheetz said.

This promotion will be applied across all the 675+ Sheetz stores located in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

In 2022, Sheetz took similar initiatives by reducing the prices of two of their fuel blends by over a dollar than the national average on the Fourth of July.

The Pennsylvania-based company has a history of such offers during holidays that are traditionally characterized by heavy travel, with specific fuel blends being offered at $1.99 per gallon during the past Thanksgiving.

AAA’s reported national average gas price of $3.53 per gallon as of June 3 is lower than Pennsylvania’s average by 10 cents and anywhere from 3 cents to 30 cents higher than averages in other states where Sheetz stores are situated.
