Shareholder Support for ESG Proposals Drops

Shareholder support for proposals relating to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) fell to 22%, compared to its peak support of 33% in 2021.

“It’s across the board that support has dropped,” said Heidi Welsh, the Executive Director of Sustainable Investments Institute.

The drop in ESG support follows Republican lawmakers pulling funding from institutions involved in ESG investments.
