Seven People Killed in Accident After Ferry Dock Collapses in Georgia

Seven people tragically lost their lives on Saturday when a ferry dock on Georgia’s Sapelo Island collapsed. The incident occurred during a gathering to celebrate the Gullah-Geechee community, descendants of enslaved African Americans.

Reports indicate that around 20 people were on the dock when it collapsed, causing multiple injuries.

Several individuals were transported to a nearby hospital, though their conditions have not yet been disclosed. Sapelo Island, located about 60 miles south of Savannah, is known for its rich cultural history and the preservation of Gullah-Geechee traditions.
