Sen. Johnson Calls for Release of US Armed Forces COVID Vax Injury Data

In a letter sent Tuesday to Defense Health Agency Director Lieutenant General Ronald Place, US Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) requested detailed information about claims filed on Tricare, the military healthcare program, for active duty service members related to COVID-19 and potential COVID-19 vaccine injuries.

According to the letter obtained by The Post Millennial, Johnson wrote, “Over the last year, I have heard from countless individuals across the country who have suffered life-altering injuries after receiving COVID-19 vaccines. My office has also been in contact with many men and women of the US military who have shared their concerns about the Department of Defense’s (DoD) pointless and harmful COVID-19 vaccine policy.”

Johnson added that he has “held three roundtables on this topic and have sent multiple letters to federal health agencies – including DoD – requesting information on vaccine safety and efficacy.” However, he stated that “despite the unprecedented number of adverse events and deaths associated with the COVID-19 vaccines on the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, this administration has failed to provide full and transparent information on vaccine safety to Congress and to the public.”

In an effort to address these concerns, Johnson offered an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) last week that would have provided additional protections for service members negatively impacted by the DoD’s COVID-19 vaccine policy, Post Millennial explains.

On Friday, he joined Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and nine other Republican colleagues in a letter to Biden’s Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, following the Senate’s approval of the NDAA, urging Austin to “freeze all COVID-19 vaccine-related discharges and to establish a process for all members that were discharged because they refused the COVID-19 vaccine so they could be reinstated with full benefits and back pay.”

Johnson emphasized in his letter to Place that “the brave men and women who serve our country deserve to know the truth about the short and long-term health effects these mandated vaccines will have on the rest of their lives.” He set a deadline of January 9, 2023 for receiving data on the matter dating back to January 2017.
