Scottsdale School Board Served Letters of Intent to File Claims Totalling $1 Million Against Members

Local parents file claims against the surety bonds of Scottsdale, Arizona school board members, asking them to make substantial changes or risk hefty fines.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Leigh Dundas and Miki Klann served letters of intent to the Scottsdale Unified School District in Arizona according to the Citizen Free Press
  • Klann reveals her plan to submit a claim on behalf of the SUSD board members against the Governor’s surety bond at the meeting.
  • Each member of the board will be charged with practicing medicine without a license, child abuse, segregation and inappropriate sexual material in the school libraries.
  • Members received 10 letters each from 10 different parents where each claimed $100,000 against the bond.
HOW THE CLAIM WORKS:
  • The parents are creating a claim against the surety bond, which, according to Bonds For The Win, is a financial guarantee for public officials which is a promise they’ll uphold their contracts.
  • The bonds are meant to protect the people from fraud and malpractice since those harmed can make a claim against the bond to recover losses, which is what the Scottsdale parents are attempting to do.
BACKGROUND:
  • Parents are outraged over the accusation that kids and their families’ personal information was kept in an unsecured platform in the school board’s members’ homes.
  • Additionally, a representative of parents in the district also addressed the COVID policies in schools and teachers who were encouraging children as young as 5 to take the COVID-19 vaccination without parental consent.
