School District Prohibits Clothing Related to Christmas, ‘Religious’ Holidays

The Gateway Pundit obtained a memo from Pennsylvania’s Wallingford-Swarthmore School District that prohibits employees from wearing attire related to Christmas or other religious holidays.

The memo, addressed to school bus drivers and aides, is in response to alleged concerns from parents about Christmas-themed decorations and clothing.

“As per Dr. Marseille, he has been receiving complaints from parents concerning District employees displaying ‘Christmas’ themed decorations and/or wearing clothing of the same nature,” the memo reads, referring to a senior district figure.

“If you have decorated your bus with anything specific to the Christmas Holiday or any other decorations relating to a specific religion, please remove them immediately. In addition, employees are instructed not to wear clothing related to Christmas or any other religious holiday.”

School buses are also prohibited from playing Christmas music.

“In addition, District Offices, & School Buses are to refrain from playing Christmas music or any other music related to a specific religion.”

American Faith reported that some U.S. cities are also prohibiting “religious” Christmas decorations.

Wauwatosa Deputy City Administrator Melissa Cantarero Weiss discouraged employees from using “religious decorations” when decorating the city for Christmas.

The email told employees to focus on creating a “welcoming and inclusive environment” for residents and visitors.

Instead of using traditional red and green-colored decorations, Weiss asked employees to “opt for more neutral and inclusive decorations that celebrate the season without favoring any particular faith belief system.”
