Sanctuary City’s Democrat Mayor Travels to Latin America to Dissuade Migrants From Entering New York City

New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams launched a tour across Latin America.

Adams’ tour is to allow him to learn about the migrant crisis and discourage individuals from coming to New York City.

Adams will travel to Mexico, Ecuador, and Colombia in order to give “people of those areas a real story of what is happening in New York City,” he said, referring to the limited resources.

“There’s a public relations campaign that people use in these areas to state that if you come to New York that you’re going to get whatever you need. I want to give them a true picture of what’s taking place.”

During his first stop in Mexico City, Adams met with local officials to discuss migrant surges.

“We are pulling off now to head to Mexico to speak with leaders of the area and to really start the process of understanding the flow of migrants here to New York City and throughout the entire country,” Adams stated prior to his flight.

“This is the type of conversation we believe we need to have, both local, national, and international, to come up with a resolution,” the mayor added.

Reporting from The Blaze:

The governor told reporters that the deputy mayor for communications, Fabien Levy, and his team will try to get Adams on as many local television and radio stations as possible to "give people the honest truth." Levy noted that local media would be invited to all Adams' events.

"There is a body of people who are there that are giving them false hopes and false promises. We want to give people a true picture of what is here," Adams explained. "We are at capacity, over 117,000."
