San Antonio Airport Reportedly Operating ‘Secret’ Migrant Camp

The San Antonio Airport has reportedly been operating a “secret” migrant camp for more than half a year, according to the Daily Mail.

Hundreds of migrants are being housed in an empty hangar, the outlet noted.

San Antonio City Councilor Marc Whyte said that when he “found out about this, I lost my mind.”

The organization behind the shelter, Interfaith Welcome Coalition, described the hanger as a “hidden area where they take the migrants to this holding site basically until four or five hours before they fly.”

“It may not be the best holding spot because my understanding is that the porta potties are outside; they’re not allowed to use the bathroom inside. As cold as it is for children, I’m not sure that’s the best,” Tori Salas, with Interfaith Welcome Coalition, added.

News of the migrant camp comes as the state of Texas sees thousands of migrant border apprehensions daily.

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott recently announced his plans to sign a new state law that will allow police officers to arrest immigrants who illegally entered the state from another country.

“Texas is having to step up and do even more to make sure that we deny illegal entry into the state of Texas and as a result … in two weeks I’ll be singing [the] new law,” Abbott said.

“The problem is extraordinarily bad,” Abbott said. “The numbers are high, and that is because Joe Biden continues to lay out the welcome mat welcoming illegal immigrants into the United States of America.”
