Samaritan’s Purse Provides Helene Victims With Water Filtration Systems

Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian humanitarian aid organization, is providing three water filtration systems to victims of Hurricane Helene.

The water filters can reportedly provide clean water for 10,000 people daily, or up to 50,000 liters.

“We designed these systems to use overseas—and they work so well—but now the need is in our own backyard,” said Rev. Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse in a release.

“We are airlifting supplies, mudding out homes, removing trees, and doing so much more—all in Jesus’ Name—and we’re thankful for everyone who is helping make it possible. We want to remind each person that we help that God loves and cares for them and hasn’t forgotten them.”

On a visit to Valdosta, Georgia this week, Donald Trump made a stop to deliver essential aid including food, water, and other supplies alongside Graham in the wake of Hurricane Helene’s destruction.

“We came down with truckloads of things, and we’re going to have that done by Franklin’s incredible organization. They’ve done such a good job. We’ve done this before, but we have a lot of truckloads of different items, from oil to water, to all sorts of equipment that’s going to help” those in Georgia,” Trump said during the visit.

He went on to express his solidarity, saying, “We’re here today to stand in complete solidarity with the people of Georgia, with all of the suffering and the terrible aftermath of Hurricane Helene.” During his speech, Trump paused for a moment of silence to honor the 91 lives lost to the hurricane.

Trump also appealed for unity beyond political divides by stating, “We’re not talking about politics now, we all have to get together to get this solved.”

Following Trump, Graham shared words of hope, “Yes, there are storms in life, but God will take us through those storms if we put our faith and trust in his son, Jesus Christ,” before leading a prayer with those gathered.
