Rubio Accuses Iran of Terrorism

Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Iran of committing acts of terrorism by attacking commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking to reporters before meeting with New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters, Rubio said, “The whole world’s been impacted unfortunately because Iran is violating every law known by striking commercial vessels in the Straits of Hormuz, and it’s a big problem for the world.”

“I mean, this is a regime that doesn’t believe in laws, rules, or anything like that. It’s a state sponsor of terrorism, so it’s not surprising that they’re now conducting terrorist activity against commercial vessels,” he said.

Rubio also told reporters that he hopes news on a deal with Iran will come “later today.”

The U.S. Secretary of State previously identified cracks in Iranian leadership. Without disclosing the details of those involved in discussions, Rubio revealed, “Look, there’s some fractures going on there internally. And at the end of the day, I think that if there are people in Iran who now, given everything that’s happened, are willing to move in a different direction for their country, that would be great.”

“Imagine an Iran that, instead of spending their wealth, billions of dollars, supporting terrorists or weapons, had spent that money helping the people of Iran,” he said. “You’d have a much different country.”

President Trump warned Tuesday morning that unless a deal is reached with Iran, a “whole civilization will die.”

“I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
