Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been ordered to remain on Michigan’s ballot for the 2024 election, despite his efforts to withdraw after endorsing former President Donald Trump.
The state’s Supreme Court, with a Democrat-nominated majority, reversed a lower court’s decision, blocking Kennedy’s removal.
Critics, including Republican-nominated justices, warn that his continued presence on the ballot could confuse voters and undermine election integrity.
“This plainly has nothing to do with ballot or election integrity,” said Kennedy’s attorney Aaron Siri. “The aim is precisely the opposite — to have unwitting Michigan voters throw away their votes on a withdrawn candidate.”
Kennedy had similarly sought to be removed from ballots in other battleground states.
Last month, former President Donald Trump revealed plans to form an expert panel in collaboration with RFK Jr. to address the concerning increase in chronic diseases among children.
“I also want to salute Bobby’s decades of work as an advocate for the health of our families and our children. Nobody’s done more,” Trump said.
“The three great causes that drove me down to this race in the first place, primarily, these are the principal causes that persuaded me to leave the Democratic Party and run as an independent. Now, to throw my support to President Trump, the causes were free speech, the war in Ukraine, and the war on our children,” Kennedy said.
