Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) released a report detailing the extensive damage caused by illegal immigration under the Biden-Harris administration.
The report, called “America Invaded,” explains that the “tens of thousands of criminals and terrorists” entering the United States is “destroying American sovereignty, endangering Americans and migrants alike, and radically transforming our country.”
The devastation left in the wake of the ongoing border crisis has led to a “lawless, dangerous, and unrecognizable collection of individuals without common bond.”
Since Biden became President of the United States, more than 8.5 million illegal immigrants crossed the southern border. At least 5.6 million of these illegal aliens have been released into the country’s interior, while 1.9 million have evaded Border Patrol.
The crisis has also taken a toll on Border Patrol agents, as 14 committed suicide in 2022. The number is nearly twice as many as the suicides recorded in 2020.
The report goes on to describe issues such as fentanyl, crime, terrorists, and cartels.
U.S. taxpayer dollars are also at stake, the report notes. “Texas alone has spent $13 billion on border security efforts like Operation Lone Star to do the job the federal government refuses to do,” Roy’s office wrote, adding that “federal, state, and local governments are spending billions of dollars to lodge illegal aliens.”
“Radical progressive Democrats have caused the worst border crisis in recent history, and the flames have spread to almost every state and locality in the nation. This crisis is rooted in a fundamental desire to remake and cement one party rule built on dependence on the state,” the report’s conclusion reads, adding, “We cannot shrug our shoulders and hope the next presidential administration, or a miracle will end the border crisis and its impacts. We have countless examples of this crisis harming our constituents in different ways to motivate us to secure the border once and for all. Now is the time to fight. Now is the time to do what we said we were going to do in Congress: secure the border and take back our country.”
In a statement X sharing the report, Roy wrote, “My team compiled a summary of the Border Invasion perpetrated against the American people by the Harris-Biden regime – and it’s just the tip of the iceberg.”
He said the “country is being torn apart – from dangerous fentanyl to lawless criminals, from known terrorists to death and abuse of migrants, from massive financial costs to fundamental re-making of American society including non-citizen voters.”
“It’s purposeful – and the damage is far-reaching. Every journalist, politicians, and American should read this report and seethe with rage.”
