Rep. Maxine Waters Tests Positive for COVID, Says She’s ‘Grateful to Be Fully Vaccinated’

The California Democrat said in her statement that she was vaccinated and had received two boosters.

WATERS STATEMENT ABOUT THE ILLNESS:
  • “Today, I have received a positive test result for COVID. I am currently isolating and have no symptoms. I am following all protocols as recommended by the Office of the Attending Physician and CDC guidance,” Waters said.
  • “I am grateful to be fully vaccinated and to have received two booster shots. Thankfully, I am feeling fine and recommend everyone to get vaccinated if you have not done so already.”
BACKGROUND:
  • Waters has served as representative of California since 1991, representing the 43rd, 29th, and 35th districts, covering much of southern Los Angeles, as well as portions of Gardena, Inglewood, and Torrance.
  • The aging politician increased her prominence during the Trump administration due to her constant insistence that former President Donald Trump was colluding with the Kremlin to undermine the United States.
