Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to Reintroduce Impeachment Against DHS Secretary Mayorkas

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has reintroduced articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

“While some members, like Tom McClintock, want to bloviate endlessly while imagining themselves wearing a powdered wig, the American people want action. These members whine about ‘due process’ while protecting Mayorkas from facing accountability for his violation of our border security laws,” Green shared in a tweet.

“These members whine about ‘due process’ while protecting Mayorkas from facing accountability for his violation of our border security laws. Impeachment IS due process. It would put Mayorkas in front of the Senate to face trial.”

“We’ve seen the evidence of him breaking the law. It’s time for the Senate to try him for it,” she wrote.

“Today, I reintroduced my articles of impeachment against Secretary Mayorkas because impeachment is EXACTLY what the founders intended for the House to do when a member of the executive branch intentionally violates the laws written by the legislative branch.”

Earlier this month, Greene brought a resolution to impeach Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Her resolution called for his impeachment due to “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

The move followed two of Greene’s constituents being killed in a car accident involving the smuggling of illegal immigrants.

Eight Republicans joined Democrats in voting 209-201 to send the resolution to the Homeland Security Committee, preventing it from coming to the floor.
