Record-Breaking Win: Trump Dominates New Hampshire Primary

In a significant triumph on Tuesday night, President Donald J. Trump secured a decisive victory in New Hampshire, setting a new record for the most votes ever cast for a presidential candidate in the state’s primary. Notably, renowned pollster Rich Baris highlights that Trump surpassed the previous record of Bernie Sanders in 2016 when Sanders received 152,193 votes, surpassing Hillary Clinton.

As of the time of publication, the vote count for President Trump reached 152,565, with 13% of the votes still pending tabulation. Trump emerged victorious over his sole remaining competitor, Nikki Haley. This win further cements Trump’s status as the undisputed front-runner in the race for the GOP’s 2024 presidential nomination.

While the exact margin of Trump’s victory was pending confirmation late Tuesday night, the outcome in the Granite State dealt a setback to Haley’s efforts to assemble an anti-Trump coalition comprising independents and Democrats, with the goal of hindering his progress toward the nomination.

Following Trump’s victory, Haley expressed determination to stay in the race, assuring her supporters that “this race is far from over.” Trump, in response, criticized Haley, pointing out his lead over her in the election results. He remarked, “She was up, and I said wow, she’s doing like a speech like she won. She didn’t, she lost.”

Trump expressed confidence in the upcoming South Carolina primary, stating, “We’ll head out to South Carolina where I think we’re going to win easily. I think we’re 50 points up … on a person that was governor, that tells you something.” He emphasized his decision to address the situation, stating, “I felt I should do this because I find it a life you can’t let people get away with bullsh*t.”

An interesting aspect revealed in the election data is that an astounding 70% of Haley voters were not Republicans, providing additional context to the dynamics at play in the primary.
