Puma will reportedly drop its sponsorship of Israel’s soccer team next year.
According to the sportswear company, the decision was made before the October 7 Hamas attacks, and was not made under any “external causes.”
“While two newly signed national teams, including a new statement team, will be announced later this year and in 2024, the contracts of some federations such as Serbia and Israel will expire in 2024,” a spokesperson for the company said.
The decision was allegedly made as part of Puma’s “fewer-bigger-better strategy.”
The company also plans to “discontinue to work with some other national teams” in the new year.
