Pro-Life Centers Deliver $452M in Care Despite Attacks and Political Pressure

Nearly 3,000 pro-life pregnancy centers across the United States provided over $452 million in free and low-cost medical services, educational support, and material goods in 2024, according to a new report by the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI). The findings showcase the expanding impact of these centers in the wake of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade.

The CLI, affiliated with Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, released its annual report titled “Pregnancy Centers: Rising to the Occasion in Unwavering Care.” It surveyed 2,775 pregnancy centers nationwide, showing a significant increase in client visits, resources distributed, and overall satisfaction.

Pro-life centers served over 1 million new clients in 2024—an average of one new person per center every day. Eighty percent of centers offered free or low-cost medical services such as pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and STI testing, with staffing support from more than 10,000 licensed medical professionals. Material assistance like diapers, formula, and clothing totaled $116 million in value—a 48% rise from 2022.

In addition, 77% of these centers offered post-abortion support, and 29% provided Abortion Pill Reversal (APR), a treatment that can potentially save a baby’s life if administered promptly after the first abortion pill. Client satisfaction reached 98%, reflecting strong community support.

Despite these achievements, pregnancy centers remain under fire. Abortion advocates and Democrat lawmakers often accuse these centers of using misleading tactics and have sought to regulate, defund, or even shut them down. Some blue states are attempting to force referrals to abortion providers or ban APR services. Meanwhile, pro-life centers continue to outnumber Planned Parenthood abortion clinics by a ratio of 15 to 1.

The report was released amid ongoing physical and political attacks on pregnancy centers following the Dobbs decision. The CLI’s collaboration with organizations like Heartbeat International, Care Net, and Focus on the Family underscores the deep national network of life-affirming support services operating in all 50 states.
