Buybuy Baby is closing all of its physical stores, just a year after new ownership attempted to revive the brand.
In an announcement on its website, the company stated it is transitioning to an online-only model, citing the need for a “strategic reset.” As part of this shift, Buybuy Baby has launched closing sales in-store, with gift cards being accepted until October 31.
Customers will still be able to use gift cards and access registries online.
The company also assured that its customer service team will be reaching out to those with pending furniture orders. Buybuy Baby, formerly a subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., struggled with sales before Bed Bath & Beyond filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2023.
Despite efforts to revive the brand, the attempt at a physical retail comeback was short-lived.
