PolitiFact’s ‘Lie of the Year’ is Another Desperate Attack on Trump

PolitiFact, the far-left outlet often criticized for its bias, has announced its “Lie of the Year,” and unsurprisingly, it’s another attack on Donald Trump. The organization, which has a history of defending Democrats and the corporate media, has chosen to focus on a narrative involving Trump and his running mate spreading a story about Haitian immigrants eating pet dogs and cats in Springfield, Ohio.

This “Lie of the Year” selection is laughable to many, as it conveniently ignores more pressing and widely acknowledged lies of 2024, such as the White House and corporate media’s false claims that President Joe Biden is mentally sharp and ready for another term, or his repeated assertions that he would never pardon his son, Hunter Biden.

However, this is PolitiFact, a platform so deeply entrenched in political bias that it has yet to retract its 2017 “Lie of the Year,” which wrongly accused Trump of lying about the Russia collusion hoax, or its 2020 claim that those questioning the COVID death toll were spreading false information. Out of 16 previous “Lies of the Year,” PolitiFact has only called out Democrats twice—never the corporate media for their numerous missteps.

This year’s “Lie of the Year” focuses on the alleged story about Haitian immigrants, which resulted in bomb threats at schools, grocery stores, and government buildings. Yet, PolitiFact fails to mention that every single one of these bomb threats was a hoax, orchestrated overseas. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine made it clear that all 33 bomb threats were hoaxes, but PolitiFact buries this vital information in a lengthy article, distracting from the fact that the threats were a clear effort to interfere with Trump’s re-election campaign.

The media’s obsession with discrediting Trump continues, and this attack on him, based on a story that doesn’t hold up, is just another example of how far PolitiFact will go to push its partisan agenda. The focus on this supposed lie conveniently ignores much bigger and more relevant issues, like the growing evidence of corruption within the Biden family and the ongoing media cover-ups. If the regime media knew the truth about the Haitian immigrant claims, they would likely still deny it. But the real question remains: when will PolitiFact and others finally be held accountable for their consistent dishonesty?
