Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who is best known for breaking down and sobbing on during a Congressional hearing in July, has taken to dutifully microblogging his inner thoughts on social media website Twitter.
The son of soy enthusiast Rus Kinzinger attempted to construct a clever takedown of his own party’s base by writing, “Real oppression: ‘the dear leader demands you pledge allegiance to him!’ Fake oppression: ‘here is a healthy vaccine to protect you and others.’ The anti-vax right are the REAL snowflakes.”
Kinzinger’s name was not known by most Americans before he became overcome with blubbering emotion in front of cameras in July, and was mocked by Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
“The one thing we did learn, it’s something we long suspected but never seen confirmed, is an awful lot of members of Congress are emotionally fragile,” Carlson said of the hearing.
“It was all too much for Adam Kinzinger, he wept just thinking of it, he let it all pour out right there in the hearing, couldn’t help it,” Carlson jibed. “Kinzinger hadn’t cried this hard since he drank too much Rosé while watching the final rose ceremony on the bachelor, the one they were mean to Brianna.”
Carlson went on to quip, “Adam Kinzinger is a highly sensitive plant and he doesn’t care who knows it.”
As National File reported on Tuesday, Adam’s father Rus is a soybean enthusiast who serves as a Board Member of the World Soy Foundation.
In a video for the World Soy Foundation, Rus Kinzinger extolled the virtues of the crop as he attempted to sell a new product that would allow farmers to process soy beans at their kitchen tables.
“They’re basically table top models that will allow soybeans to be turned into soy milk and other products,” said the elder Kinzinger.
