  • 700 block of North May Street (West Town): January 3, 2025, at 6:22 AM.

In each robbery, two or three male suspects, all dressed in black or dark clothing and wearing black ski masks, exited a stolen white Jeep Grand Cherokee and approached victims while armed with handguns. The suspects demanded personal belongings before fleeing in the vehicle.

Some victims were physically assaulted, including being pistol-whipped or battered, police reported.

The suspects are described as males between 17 and 20 years old. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Chicago police as the investigation continues.

Last week, a man was killed and two others were wounded in a shootout early in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood, authorities reported.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on the sidewalk in the 2000 block of South Paulina Street. Police said two 32-year-old men were arguing with a 25-year-old when the argument escalated into an exchange of gunfire.

The 25-year-old was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet identified him.

One of the 32-year-olds suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and is listed in critical condition at Stroger Hospital. The other was shot in the left arm and is in good condition, according to police.

No arrests have been made, and Area Three detectives are conducting an investigation into the incident.
