PNC Financial Services Group Inc reopened Donald Trump Jr.’s account connected to his app, claiming the initial closure was a “good-faith error.” The app, news aggregation company MxM News, was cofounded with Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich. The account was originally closed “without any explanation,” according to Trump Jr.

“Account closures can occur for a variety of reasons but are never influenced by the political views or affiliations of our customers,” a March 3 statement from PNC reads. ... PNC Bank’s reversal follows outrage among Republicans, including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who deemed PNC Bank’s initial move “outrageous."
