Trump Appeals ‘Most Politically Charged Prosecution in Nation’s History’

President Trump filed an appeal in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against him, demanding that it be tossed out. Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records in April 2023.

“This is the most politically charged prosecution in our Nation’s history,” the filing declares. “After years of fruitless investigation into decade-old, baseless allegations— and under immense political pressure to criminally charge President Donald J. Trump for something—New York’s district attorney (DANY) manufactured felony charges against a once-former and now-sitting President of the United States.”

“Targeting alleged conduct that has never been found to violate any New York law, the DA concocted a purported felony by stacking time barred misdemeanors under a convoluted legal theory, which the DA then improperly obscured until the charge conference,” the document states. “This case should never have seen the inside of a courtroom, let alone resulted in a conviction.”

The filing goes on to assert that “the evidence was clearly insufficient to convict.”

“In addition to all this overwhelming error, the trial was conducted by a judge who refused to recuse himself despite having made political contributions to President Trump’s electoral opponents and despite having disqualifying family conflicts,” the document reads. “For each of these independent reasons, President Trump’s conviction must be set aside.”

Last year, Bragg told Judge Juan Merchan to postpone the sentencing in President-elect Donald Trump’s business record case. “The People deeply respect the Office of the President, are mindful of the demands and obligations of the presidency and acknowledge that Defendant’s inauguration will raise unprecedented legal questions,” prosecutors wrote. “We also deeply respect the fundamental role of the jury in our constitutional system.”

“Given the need to balance competing constitutional interests, consideration must be given to various non-dismissal options that may address any concerns raised by the pendency of a post-trial criminal proceeding during the presidency, such as deferral of all remaining criminal proceedings until after the end of Defendant’s upcoming presidential term,” Bragg added.

Calls Grow to Strip Naturalization From Mamdani

(Photo by Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images)

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) is doubling down on his calls that the Department of Justice denaturalize New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

“Mamdani could very well be made mayor of NYC in less than two weeks. We have no time to waste. In 2017, he was a public supporter of the totalitarian DSA, praised terrorists, and openly despised the U.S. Constitution. Those views MUST be disclosed during naturalization, and if they were withheld, that’s a federal crime,” Ogles said in a statement on X. “If we deport Mamdani for breaking REAL laws, we can save NYC and take back our country from the Marxists who want to reduce America to a third-world wasteland.”

In a letter addressed to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Ogles wrote that since his initial letter from June, “additional public reporting has raised further questions about Mr. Mamdani’s past statements and associations, including his refusal to disavow violent anti-American rhetoric and continued public praise for individuals convicted of providing material support to Hamas.”

“No individual, regardless of public office or public profile, should be shielded from accountability if credible evidence indicates deception or concealment during the citizenship process,” Ogles added. “I again urge the Department to open a formal investigation into whether Mr. Mamdani’s public expressions of support for the Holy Land Foundation’s convicted leadership, and his ongoing rhetoric sympathetic to anti-Israel and anti-U.S. movements, were disclosed as required during his naturalization.”

“The United States must uphold the integrity of its citizenship process and ensure that those who seek to represent the public meet the highest standards of loyalty to this Nation,” he urged.

Mamdani was naturalized in 2018.

In his previous letter to Bondi, Ogles wrote that because the naturalization process depends on “good-faith disclosure” of any affiliation with entities threatening the United States, possible concealment of associations “may constitute a material misrepresentation sufficient to support denaturalization under federal law.”

Anti-Trump U.N. Official Seeks Key Role in Gaza Peace Plan

A senior United Nations leader with a long history of attacking President Donald Trump is now lobbying for influence in the administration’s new Trump Gaza peace plan, raising serious questions about the integrity of U.S. policy implementation in the region. Tom Fletcher, the U.N.’s undersecretary general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator in Gaza, has posted dozens of anti-Trump messages over the years, calling the president a “dictator” and claiming the world has “a Trump problem.”

Fletcher is now “waging a charm offensive on Trump officials trying to reboot himself from pro-Hamas propagandist to reliable U.S. partner for humanitarian aid in Gaza,” a White House source told the Washington Free Beacon. Despite defending the U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)—whose employees participated in Hamas’s October 7 attack—Fletcher has argued the agency is “the only organization capable of handling aid in Gaza.”

Fletcher has repeatedly smeared the United States and Israel, accusing Israel of “forced starvation” in Gaza and falsely claiming that “14,000 Gazan babies would die in 48 hours” without more aid.

Former Trump national security official Richard Goldberg warned that Fletcher’s involvement could undermine U.S. goals. “This self-aggrandizing, raging anti-Trump leftist U.N. leader will be the downfall of the Trump plan for Gaza if he’s allowed inside the decision-making tent,” Goldberg said.

Confederate Statue Restored to D.C.

A statue of Albert Pike, a Confederate general, has been restored to Judiciary Square. The statue was removed in 2020 during the Black Lives Matter protests.

The National Park Service announced the statue’s restoration in August. At the time, the NPS described the statue as being in “secure storage since its removal and is currently undergoing restoration by the National Park Service’s Historic Preservation Training Center.”

The restoration aligns with President Trump’s March executive order, which says that Americans have “witnessed a concerted and widespread effort to rewrite our Nation’s history, replacing objective facts with a distorted narrative driven by ideology rather than truth.”

The order directs the Secretary of the Interior to “take action to reinstate the pre-existing monuments, memorials, statues, markers, or similar properties” in compliance with federal code and so ensure that the monuments “do not contain descriptions, depictions, or other content that inappropriately disparage Americans past or living (including persons living in colonial times), and instead focus on the greatness of the achievements and progress of the American people or, with respect to natural features, the beauty, abundance, and grandeur of the American landscape.”

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) condemned the statue’s restoration, calling it “morally objectionable” and an “affront to the mostly Black and Brown residents of the District of Columbia and offensive to members of the military who serve honorably.”

“Pike himself served dishonorably. He took up arms against the United States, misappropriated funds, and was ultimately captured and imprisoned by his own troops,” Norton said. “He resigned in disgrace after committing a war crime and dishonoring even his own Confederate military service. Confederate statues should be placed in museums as historical artifacts, not remain in parks or other locations that imply honor. Pike represents the worst of the Confederacy and has no claim to be memorialized in the Nation’s capital.”

Trump Admin Boots Over Half a Million Illegals

More than 527,000 illegal immigrants have been removed from the United States, according to information from the Department of Homeland Security.

“The Trump Administration is on pace to shatter historic records and deport nearly 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of President Donald Trump’s first year since returning to office. More than 2 million illegal aliens have left the U.S., including 1.6 million who have voluntarily self-deported and over 527,000 deportations,” DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said. “This is just the beginning. President Trump and Secretary Noem have jumpstarted an agency that was hamstrung and barred from doing its job for the last four years.”

McLaughlin described the Trump administration’s actions as “historic,” declaring that “illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now or face the consequence: Migrants are now turning back before they even reach our borders.”

Homeland Security and the Justice Department recently announced a new federal rule to fine illegal immigrants who refuse to leave the country.

Under the current rule, illegal immigrants are given a 30-day notice of the intent to fine them. The new rule eliminates the notice period and instead allows immigration authorities to send fines more efficiently. Illegal immigrants will now be fined up to $998 each day they willfully fail to comply with a removal order. Those who choose to self-deport through the CBP Home App will be forgiven of fines or penalties.

Other fines include a $100 to $500 fine for unlawful entry or attempted entry into the country, and a $1,992 to $9,970 fine for failure to honor a voluntary departure order.

Murder Charge Filed in Deadly Alabama Bonfire Shooting

An Alabama man now faces a murder charge following a deadly bonfire shooting that killed 18-year-old high school cheerleader Kimber Mills and injured three others. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said 27-year-old Steven Tyler Whitehead opened fire shortly after midnight on Oct. 19 at a gathering in Pinson, Alabama, known locally as The Pit.

Authorities said Whitehead arrived at around 12:24 a.m. and began shooting after a verbal and physical fight broke out. He was initially charged with three counts of attempted murder, but prosecutors upgraded the charges after Mills died from her injuries. Mills was a senior at Cleveland High School, where she ran track and served as a cheerleader.

Her sister, Ashley Mills, confirmed her death on Facebook, writing, “Our sweet baby sister went to be with the Lord at 7:08 p.m. last night! She was and is so loved by so many. We will miss you Kimber!” Court documents cited by WBRC said Whitehead allegedly told the victim, “B—-, you are next,” moments before the shooting.

During a court hearing, Whitehead’s attorneys argued that there was no probable cause for the murder charge, claiming he fired in self-defense while trying to leave the party. Witness Silas McCay told WBRC that a fight started when Whitehead was accused of inappropriate behavior toward Mills, saying, “My buddy and I found him, and we started fighting him… that’s when he pulled his gun out and started shooting.”

Mills’ organs were donated following an honor walk Tuesday. Her heart went to a 7-year-old child, according to WVTM. Friends described her as “a bright light in so many lives.”

Trump Strikes Rare Earth Deal With Japan’s Conservative Leader

President Donald Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to discuss security, economic growth, and other matters, signing an agreement to support their collaboration.

Under the countries’ critical minerals and rare earths agreement, the U.S. and Japan will move toward a “new golden age.”

The partnership supports the “supply of raw and processed critical minerals and rare earths crucial to the domestic industries of the United States and Japan,” where both countries will “accomplish this through use of economic policy tools and coordinated investment to accelerate development of diversified, liquid, and fair markets for critical minerals and rare earths.”

President Trump said that he is “more confident than ever that the friendship between the United States and Japan is strong, strong as it can be, and it’s thriving, it’s prosperous, and it will soon be, I think, greater than ever before.”

The president also congratulated Takaichi on being the “first woman Prime Minister. That’s a big deal!”

Upon meeting with President Trump, Takaichi wrote on social media, in part, “A new chapter in the golden age of the Japan-U.S. Alliance begins today. Our ironclad, unshakable Alliance and strong economic ties will continue to bring peace and prosperity to our peoples and to the Indo-Pacific.”

Takaichi, 64, secured leadership of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and was confirmed by Japan’s parliament on October 21, 2025. She credited former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as her political inspiration, pledging strong, values-based leadership.

Upon her success, Takaichi said she “unwaveringly believes in the potential of Japan and the Japanese people” and pledged to “take responsibility for pioneering Japan’s future,” make the “Japanese archipelago strong and prosperous,” and expressed a determination to “restore Japanese diplomacy that shines at the center of the world.”

Indigenous Tribes Face Extinction as Influencers Invade Remote Communities for Clout

A shocking new report warns that clout-chasing travel influencers are putting some of the world’s most isolated Indigenous tribes at risk of extinction — all in the name of views and viral fame.

According to the advocacy group Survival International, social media adventurers entering restricted zones to film “first contact” moments are exposing uncontacted tribes to deadly diseases for which they have no immunity. The charity’s report, Uncontacted Indigenous Peoples: At the Edge of Survival, describes the potential outcome as “catastrophic.”

There are roughly 196 uncontacted Indigenous groups worldwide, with about 95% residing in the Amazon rainforest. But nearly 90 tribes across South America, Asia, and the Pacific are reportedly endangered by “surging numbers of influencers” and thrill-seeking tourists.

One example cited in the report involves British YouTuber Miles Routledge, who allegedly bragged about plans to illegally reach North Sentinel Island — home to the world’s most isolated people, the Sentinelese — by altering his passport and evading authorities. Similarly, American influencer Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, 24, was arrested in India after attempting to approach the island in a small dinghy, leaving offerings of a coconut and a Diet Coke.

Experts warn that even a single physical encounter could wipe out entire tribes through infection — much like what happened to Indigenous populations during European colonization. “All contact kills,” the report stressed. “Exposure to unfamiliar pathogens can annihilate entire communities, while online fame-seeking encourages others to repeat the same reckless behavior.”

Mamdani Scrambles to Explain “Aunt” in Viral “Islamophobia” Story as Questions Mount

Photo by Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images

New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani attempted to clarify on Monday details about an emotional anecdote that drew national scrutiny, saying his comments about “Islamophobia” referred to a relative he described as his late cousin. The clarification followed online backlash and growing doubts over the socialist politician’s story, now known widely as the Mamdani clarifies controversy.

“I was speaking about Zehra fuhi, my father’s cousin, who passed away a few years ago,” Mamdani told reporters, explaining that “fuhi” means paternal aunt in Hindi and Urdu. The clarification came after social media users questioned his earlier claim that his “aunt” stopped riding the subway after 9/11 due to Islamophobia. Public records and online profiles showed his only biological aunt, Dr. Masuma Mamdani, worked in Tanzania from 2000 to 2003 and did not appear to wear a hijab.

The dispute over the anecdote spread quickly online after Mamdani’s Oct. 24 speech, where he said, “I want to speak to the memory of my aunt who stopped taking the subway after September 11th because she did not feel safe in her hijab.” Vice President JD Vance weighed in, posting, “According to Zohran the real victim of 9/11 was his auntie who got some (allegedly) bad looks.”

The controversy has also renewed attention on Mamdani’s father, Columbia University professor Mahmood Mamdani, whose past writings and anti-Israel activism have drawn criticism. In his 2004 book Good Muslim, Bad Muslim, he wrote, “Suicide bombing needs to be understood as a feature of modern political violence rather than stigmatized as a mark of barbarism.”

Zohran Mamdani has denied embellishing his story and accused critics of anti-Muslim bias, stating on X, “The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker.”

Oversight Committee Declares Autopen ‘Null and Void’

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released a report titled, “The Biden Autopen Presidency: Decline, Delusion, and Deception in the White House,” exposing the concealment of former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. The report details how Biden aides exercised presidential authority without Biden’s direct authorization.

The report utilizes transcripts from 14 different Biden aides. “Not one of the Committee’s 14 witnesses was willing to admit that they ever had a concern about President Biden being in cognitive decline,” the report explains. “In fact, numerous witnesses could not recall having a single conversation about President Biden’s cognitive health with anyone inside or outside of the White House.”

According to the report, Biden’s executive decisions must be reviewed. “In the absence of sufficient contemporaneous documentation indicating that cognitively deteriorating President Biden himself made a given executive decision, such decisions do not carry the force of law and should be considered void,” it said, criticizing “haphazard documentation procedures.”

“The Biden Autopen Presidency will go down as one of the biggest political scandals in U.S. history. As Americans saw President Biden’s decline with their own eyes, Biden’s inner circle sought to deceive the public, cover-up his decline, and took unauthorized executive actions with the autopen that are now invalid,” Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said in a statement. “Our report reveals how key aides colluded to mislead the public and the extraordinary measures they took to sustain the appearance of presidential authority as Biden’s capacity to function independently diminished.”

“Executive actions performed by Biden White House staff and signed by autopen are null and void. We are calling on the U.S. Department of Justice to conduct a thorough review of these executive actions and scrutinize key Biden aides who took the Fifth to hide their participation in the cover-up,” Comer continued. “The D.C. Board of Medicine must also review the actions taken by President Biden’s physician to hide his true condition. We have provided Americans with transparency about the Biden Autopen Presidency, and now there must be accountability.”

Top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Robert Garcia (CA), called the report the result of a “sham investigation,” claiming that “every White House official testified President Biden fully executed his duties as President of the United States.”

A July report from The New York Times explained that Biden “did not individually approve each name for the categorical pardons that applied to large numbers of people,” but instead “signed off on the standards he wanted to be used to determine which convicts would qualify for a reduction in sentence.”

According to emails reviewed by The Times, an aide sent a draft of decisions to an assistant of Biden’s Chief of Staff, Jeffrey Zients. The chief of staff, copying those involved in the meeting, wrote in an email, “I approve the use of the autopen for the execution of all of the following pardons.”
