Chicago Democrat Cries ‘Political Prosecution’ After Blocking ICE Agents

Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh is calling her federal indictment a case of political prosecution after allegedly impeding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Chicago. The 26-year-old activist and former Media Matters employee faces charges of conspiring to obstruct a federal officer during a protest outside an ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois, on September 26.

According to a federal indictment filed October 23 in the Northern District of Illinois, Abughazaleh and four co-defendants “conspired … to prevent by force, intimidation, and threat” an ICE officer from carrying out official duties. Prosecutors said the group “physically hindered and impeded” the officer, forcing him to “drive at an extremely slow rate of speed to avoid injuring any of the conspirators.”

Video footage from the demonstration showed Abughazaleh and others forming a human chain in front of an ICE vehicle while chanting, “Down down with deportation, up up with liberation.” Courts have ruled that while peaceful protest is constitutionally protected, blocking government operations or endangering public safety can result in criminal charges.

Abughazaleh, who is running to represent Illinois’ Ninth Congressional District, denied wrongdoing in a video statement on X, calling the indictment “political prosecution” and a “gross attempt to silence dissent.” She claimed, “ICE has hit, dragged, thrown, shot with pepper balls and tear-gassed hundreds of protesters, simply because we had the gall to say that masked men coming into our communities, abducting our neighbors and terrorizing us cannot be our new normal.”

She also accused federal authorities of trying to “scare us into silence” and said the charges showed that “they are scared” and “on the wrong side of history.”

Cruz Explodes on Judge—Calls for Impeachment

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) declared during a press conference that Judge James Boasberg must be immediately impeached. Discussing the recent revelation that numerous Senators were targeted, with phone records seized without proper notice, Cruz called for accountability for the “zealots” corrupting the Department of Justice.

“I am right now calling on the House of Representatives to impeach Judge Boasberg. Judge Boasberg put his robe down, stood up, and said, ‘Sign me up to be part of the partisan vendetta against 20% of the Republicans in the Senate,’” Cruz stated. “That is a dereliction of duty and a violation of the judicial oath.”

“I want to thank Chairman Grassley and Chairman Johnson for pursuing this tenaciously, like a dog on a bone,” he continued. “We are going to get the answers of every person who signed off on this abuse of power — and mark my words, there will be accountability for these zealots who wanted to corrupt the Department of Justice and corrupt the judiciary in order to try to attack their enemies list.”

Speaking to Newsmax about Boasberg, Cruz said, “When Judge Boasberg decided to become a partisan warrior, he became part of the most egregious abuse of power. This is Joe Biden’s Watergate, and I believe the House should impeach Judge Boasberg.”

In March, Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) filed articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg after the judge halted the Trump administration’s deportation flights of Venezuelan gang members.

President Trump has also called for the judge’s impeachment, calling Boasberg a “troublemaker and agitator.”

Fisherman’s Shocking Find: Medieval Treasure Hidden Beneath Swedish Soil

A man searching for fishing worms stumbled upon a medieval treasure in Sweden that stunned archaeologists. While digging near his summer cottage in Stockholm County, the unidentified individual uncovered a cauldron filled with thousands of silver coins, rings, and pendants — one of the largest hoards ever found in the region.

Authorities from the County Administrative Board of Stockholm confirmed the discovery in a statement released in mid-September. “The finder reported the discovery to the County Administrative Board, and archaeologists are now investigating the site and examining the coins, beads, rings and pendants that make up the hoard,” the statement said.

The cauldron weighed roughly six kilograms, or about 13¼ pounds, and contained up to 20,000 coins dating back to the early Middle Ages. Sofia Andersson, an antiquarian with the County Administrative Board, called the find “one of the largest silver hoards from the early Middle Ages ever found in Sweden.”

Among the artifacts were rare coins, including one inscribed with the name of King Knut Eriksson and another from Gotland depicting a church. Several coins featured bishops, part of what archaeologists call “bishop’s coins,” minted under church authority during the Middle Ages.

The state will now determine whether to redeem the treasure, compensating the finder according to Swedish law. “The finder did exactly the right thing by contacting us at the County Administrative Board,” Andersson said, noting the requirement for citizens to surrender ancient artifacts for payment.

This remarkable discovery joins a growing list of Northern European treasure finds — proof that history often hides just beneath the surface.

Trump Orders Pentagon to Restart Nuclear Tests

President Trump directed the Pentagon to begin conducting nuclear weapons tests.

“The United States has more Nuclear Weapons than any other country. This was accomplished, including a complete update and renovation of existing weapons, during my First Term in office,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Because of the tremendous destructive power, I HATED to do it, but had no choice! Russia is second, and China is a distant third, but will be even within 5 years.”

“Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis,” he declared. “That process will begin immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded to Trump’s statement, telling reporters, “President Trump mentioned in his statement that other countries are engaged in testing nuclear weapons. Until now, we didn’t know that anyone was testing.”

When asked if nuclear tests would be dangerous, President Trump explained, “I don’t think so. I think we have it pretty well locked up.”

“But we have more than anybody, and I see them testing. I say, well, they’re going to test, I guess we have to test too. I’d like to see a denuclearization because we have so many,” he said. “Russia’s second and China’s third. China will catch up within four or five years. I think de-escalation, or denuclearization, would be a tremendous thing. We are actually talking to Russia about that, and China would be added to that if we do something.”

President Trump’s comments follow Russia carrying out tests of its Burevestnik nuclear-powered unlimited-range cruise missile, which Russian President Vladimir Putin called a “unique weapon that no other country possesses.”

Trump Celebrates ‘Great Meeting’ with Xi Jinping

President Donald Trump announced that he had a “great meeting” with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump said there is “enormous respect between our two Countries, and that will only be enhanced with what just took place. We agreed on many things, with others, even of high importance, being very close to resolved.”

Under the new agreement, China will begin the purchase of soybeans, sorghum, and other farm products, Trump said, declaring that U.S. farmers will be “very happy!”

“Additionally, China has agreed to continue the flow of Rare Earth, Critical Minerals, Magnets, etc., openly and freely. Very significantly, China has strongly stated that they will work diligently with us to stop the flow of Fentanyl into our Country. They will help us end the Fentanyl Crisis. China also agreed that they will begin the process of purchasing American Energy,” the president added. “In fact, a very large scale transaction may take place concerning the purchase of Oil and Gas from the Great State of Alaska.”

The agreements will deliver “Prosperity and Security to millions of Americans,” Trump noted.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said, “I thought it was an amazing meeting,” explaining that “a lot of decisions were made, too — there wasn’t too much left out there, and we’ve come to conclusion on many very important points.”

Earlier this month, Trump eased fears surrounding trade with China, writing on Truth Social, “Don’t worry about China, it will all be fine! Highly respected President Xi just had a bad moment. He doesn’t want Depression for his country, and neither do I. The U.S.A. wants to help China, not hurt it!!!”

NBC Under Fire: DHS Slams Network Over Illegal Immigrant Crime Cover-Up

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) publicly criticized an NBC affiliate this week for omitting critical facts about an illegal immigrant arrested in California. NBC Bay Area reported that federal agents detained 42-year-old Gerardo Rojas-Leyva in San Jose but failed to disclose his extensive criminal record.

NBC’s report stated, “According to the family’s Ring video, Gerardo was in his black truck at 7:45 a.m., about to head out to his construction job when multiple people, who appear to be federal officers, approached his truck and yelled for him to get out.” The outlet also quoted Rojas-Leyva’s wife, who claimed she was struck by a plainclothes officer during the arrest.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin pushed back, revealing that the man NBC portrayed as a victim had a serious criminal history. “Of course @NBCNews refuses to tell the American public that this illegal alien from Mexico has a rap sheet that includes: lewd and lascivious acts with a CHILD, battery of a spouse, domestic battery, compensation for prostitution, felony reentry after removal,” McLaughlin wrote.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, McLaughlin confirmed that ICE officers arrested Rojas-Leyva, who resisted arrest and required the use of a taser. “Rojas-Leyva’s criminal history includes lewd and lascivious acts with child of 14-15 years old, battery of a spouse, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant, and providing compensation for prostitution,” she said. McLaughlin reaffirmed DHS’s stance under President Trump and Secretary Noem: “Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S.”

McLaughlin has also accused NBC of biased coverage in previous immigration reports, defending ICE agents as “fathers and mothers… who just want to go home to their families at night and serve our great nation.”

Rosie O’Donnell’s Daughter Chelsea Sentenced to Prison After Probation Revoked

Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter, Chelsea Belle O’Donnell, had her six‑year probation revoked by a Wisconsin judge and will now serve prison time. The decision followed probation violations linked to drug‑related arrests and allegations of sexual assault, according to court records.

Chelsea’s legal troubles date to three arrests in 2024 that included drug possession and alleged child neglect charges. She had initially avoided incarceration by receiving probation under a plea deal—an 18‑month sentence was stayed in favor of the six‑year probation term. Under the stay, she was required to remain sober, avoid contact with drug users, and steer clear of firearms.

Her return to custody stems from failure to show progress in a court‑mandated treatment program and alleged probation violations, including a reported sexual assault allegation. The court determined there was “sufficient grounds” to terminate her participation in the treatment court and revoke the probation.

Rosie O’Donnell responded publicly, calling the situation “a painful journey” and asking for prayers. She acknowledged her daughter’s struggle with addiction and said her family continues to support her.

For observers focused on public accountability, this case underscores the tough balance between rehabilitation and justice. Probation offers hope for recovery, but the system also demands accountability when conditions are violated. The involvement of a high‑profile family adds public interest, but the fundamental issue remains: how courts handle repeat offenses, addiction, and the rights of victims involved.

DeSantis Renames Florida Debate Trophy in Honor of Charlie Kirk

Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida’s statewide high‑school speech and debate championship trophy will be renamed the “Charlie Kirk Prize” in tribute to the late conservative activist. The winner of the 2026 competition at New College of Florida will receive a $50,000 scholarship, while the runner‑up and other finalists will receive substantial awards.

The move aligns with the state’s broader push to strengthen civics and debate education through the Florida Civics and Debate Initiative (FCDI). DeSantis said the victory prize will honor Kirk—who died in September and was known for campus debates and conservative activism—because he “embodied the principles of patriotism, civil discourse, and open debate.”

Supporters argue the renamed prize signals a commitment to high‑school civics and the development of critical‑thinking skills at a time when many students lack exposure to formal debate or patriotic curriculum. DeSantis noted that Florida now has speech‑and‑debate programs in all 67 counties—a substantial increase from just a few years ago.

Soybeans Grab Spotlight as President Trump and President Xi Meet

As Donald Trump prepares for his upcoming summit with Xi Jinping, one of America’s quiet yet critical industries—soybean farming—is taking center stage. The U.S.–China trade dynamics have placed this staple crop under intensified scrutiny, as China’s reduced imports of U.S. soybeans threaten the rural economy in the Midwest.

China once purchased roughly 28% of U.S. soybean output. After the trade war and tariffs introduced by the Trump administration, that share dropped sharply, later rebounding somewhat before sliding again to 22% in 2024.

The loss of the Chinese market, coupled with rising costs and weather challenges, has put American farmers in a difficult position. Farmers in Illinois and Missouri report they are selling soybeans below the cost of production as Beijing pivots to Brazil and Argentina for its supply.

The decision by China to halt or reduce purchases of U.S. soybeans is seen by policy analysts as part of a broader decoupling strategy—not simply retaliation for tariffs but a long‑term shift in trade alignment.
