NBC bajo fuego: el Departamento de Seguridad Nacional Critica a La Cadena Por Encubrir Crímenes De Inmigrantes Ilegales

El Departamento de Seguridad Nacional (DHS, por sus siglas en inglés) criticó públicamente esta semana a una filial de NBC por omitir hechos cruciales sobre un inmigrante ilegal arrestado en California. NBC Bay Area informó que agentes federales detuvieron a Gerardo Rojas-Leyva, de 42 años, en San José, pero no mencionó su amplio historial criminal.

El informe de NBC señalaba: “Según el video del timbre de la familia, Gerardo estaba en su camioneta negra a las 7:45 a.m., a punto de salir a su trabajo en construcción cuando varias personas, que parecen ser agentes federales, se acercaron a su vehículo y le gritaron que saliera”. El medio también citó a la esposa de Rojas-Leyva, quien afirmó que fue golpeada por un oficial vestido de civil durante el arresto.

La subsecretaria adjunta del DHS, Tricia McLaughlin, respondió revelando que el hombre que NBC presentó como víctima tenía un serio historial delictivo. “Por supuesto, @NBCNews se niega a decirle al público estadounidense que este inmigrante ilegal de México tiene antecedentes que incluyen: actos lascivos con un niño, agresión a su esposa, violencia doméstica, prostitución y reingreso ilegal tras deportación”, escribió McLaughlin.

En una declaración a Fox News Digital, McLaughlin confirmó que agentes de ICE arrestaron a Rojas-Leyva, quien se resistió al arresto y requirió el uso de una pistola eléctrica. “El historial criminal de Rojas-Leyva incluye actos lascivos con un menor de 14 a 15 años, agresión a su cónyuge, causar lesiones corporales a su pareja o conviviente y ofrecer compensación por prostitución”, detalló. La candidata demócrata al Congreso Kat Abughazaleh calificó su acusación federal como un caso de persecución política, tras ser acusada de obstruir las operaciones del Servicio de Inmigración y Control de Aduanas (ICE) en Chicago. La activista de 26 años y ex empleada de Media Matters enfrenta cargos por conspirar para obstruir a un funcionario federal durante una protesta frente a una instalación del ICE en Broadview, Illinois, el pasado 26 de septiembre.

Según una acusación federal presentada el 23 de octubre en el Distrito Norte de Illinois, Abughazaleh y cuatro coacusados “conspiraron… para impedir mediante fuerza, intimidación y amenaza” que un agente del ICE cumpliera con sus funciones oficiales. Los fiscales afirmaron que el grupo “obstaculizó e impidió físicamente” al oficial, obligándolo a “conducir a una velocidad extremadamente baja para evitar herir a alguno de los manifestantes”.

Imágenes del evento mostraron a Abughazaleh y a otros formando una cadena humana frente a un vehículo del ICE mientras coreaban: “¡Abajo las deportaciones, arriba la liberación!”. Los tribunales han determinado que, si bien la protesta pacífica está protegida por la Constitución, bloquear operaciones gubernamentales o poner en peligro la seguridad pública puede resultar en cargos criminales.

Abughazaleh, quien se postula para representar el Noveno Distrito Congresional de Illinois, negó haber cometido delito alguno en un video publicado en X, calificando la acusación como una “persecución política” y un “intento grotesco de silenciar la disidencia”. Afirmó: “ICE ha golpeado, arrastrado, lanzado, disparado con balas de pimienta y gases lacrimógenos a cientos de manifestantes, simplemente porque tuvimos el valor de decir que hombres enmascarados que entran en nuestras comunidades, secuestran a nuestros vecinos y nos aterrorizan no pueden ser nuestra nueva normalidad”.

También acusó a las autoridades federales de intentar “asustarnos para que guardemos silencio” y aseguró que los cargos demuestran que “ellos tienen miedo” y están “del lado equivocado de la historia.”

El Senado apunta a China mientras se intensifica la persecución de cristianos

Los senadores Ted Cruz (R-TX) y Chris Coons (D-DE) presentaron una resolución que condena al Partido Comunista Chino por la detención del pastor Ezra Jin y otros miembros de la Iglesia Sion.

El 10 de octubre, Jin y otros fueron secuestrados en lo que se considera “la operación coordinada más grande a nivel nacional contra una iglesia cristiana doméstica urbana en más de 40 años”, según indica la resolución.

El documento declara que el Senado condena la detención del pastor, exige que él y otros feligreses sean liberados y “reafirma el compromiso de Estados Unidos de promover la libertad y la tolerancia religiosas en todo el mundo, así como de ayudar a brindar protección y alivio a las minorías religiosas que enfrentan persecución y violencia”.

En una declaración sobre la resolución, Cruz afirmó que el PCCh “teme todo lo que no puede controlar directamente, especialmente la fe. Estados Unidos tiene poderosas herramientas para brindar protección y alivio a quienes enfrentan persecución y violencia, y deberíamos usar esas herramientas a menos y hasta que China libere a los miembros de la Iglesia Sion.”

Por su parte, Coons señaló que el gobierno chino ha perseguido a grupos religiosos durante años. “En los últimos días, arrestaron al pastor Ezra Jin y a otros miembros de la Iglesia Sion por simplemente hacer lo que muchos de nosotros hacemos cada día: adorar a su Dios”, dijo. “Insto al presidente Xi a liberarlos junto con todos los presos políticos.”

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) made public nearly 200 subpoenas issued by former Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team as part of their case against President Trump.

The 197 subpoenas, obtained by Grassley through whistleblower disclosures, were sent to 34 individuals and 163 businesses. The records also named at least 430 Republican individuals and entities.

Some of the entities named in the documents include CBS, Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, Sinclair, and others; communications with Stephen Miller, Jared Kushner, Lara Trump, and others, financial data surrounding conservative entities, and communications with “any member, employee or agent of the Legislative Branch of the U.S. Government.”

“Arctic Frost was the vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors could improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus,” Grassley said during a press conference. “Contrary to what Smith has said publicly, this was clearly a fishing expedition.”

“If this happened to the Democrats, they’d be as rightly outraged as we are,” Grassley expressed. “We’re making these records public in the interest of transparency and so that the American people can draw their own conclusions.”

The Biden FBI and DOJ used its indiscriminate Arctic Frost investigation to improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus.

The materials expand upon documents released by the House Judiciary Committee, which revealed that Documents released by the committee reveal that 45 individuals, including former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon, Republican Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Trump DOJ official Jeffrey Clark and former Trump attorney John Eastman were “potentially under investigation,” as part of the Arctic Frost Probe, as well as another 111 individuals, including trade adviser Peter Navarro, senior adviser Dan Scavino, former DOJ official Jeff Rosen, and DOJ weaponization czar Ed Martin.

Pro-Hamas Initiative Partners with SJP, Targeting NYC Schools and Raising Alarm

A new initiative called MAS in Schools—spearheaded by pro-Hamas activists Abdullah Akl and Mohammad Badawy—aims to establish Muslim student chapters in 50 New York City public high schools. The MAS in Schools program will partner “for the first time ever” with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), a radical organization that recently called for “death to all collaborators” of Israel.

Akl, advocacy director of the Muslim American Society (MAS) Youth Center in Brooklyn, has led chants urging Hamas to “strike Tel Aviv” and vowed that “we will show up stronger than we did the first October 7th.” Badawy, the MAS Youth Center’s resident scholar, prayed for the “destruction of the illegitimate Zionist occupiers and all of their supporters” at an April event. Both men have deep ties to anti-Israel activism, including collaboration with Within Our Lifetime, a group denounced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for “atrocious anti-Semitism.”

Jewish leaders warn that the MAS in Schools initiative could worsen existing antisemitism in public schools. “It’s very troubling,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, noting the group’s “track record of essentially being pro-Hamas.” He added that “this is a concerning level of organizing, down from universities right into high schools.”

The MAS Youth Center has already begun outreach, teaching students at Lafayette and Fort Hamilton high schools “how to organize” and “how to advocate.” Flyers for MAS-backed walkouts on October 7 displayed the slogan “FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA, PALESTINE WILL BE FREE.”

Senate Targets China as Christian Persecution Intensifies

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Chris Coons (D-DE) introduced a resolution condemning the Chinese Communist Party for the detainment of Pastor Ezra Jin and other members of Zion Church.

On October 10, Jin and others were abducted in what is considered the “largest coordinated, nationwide crackdown against a Christian urban house church in more than 40 years,” the resolution states.

The file goes on to declare that the Senate condemns the pastor’s detainment, demanding that he and other churchgoers be released, and “reaffirms the commitment of the United States to promote religious freedom and tolerance around the world and to help provide protection and relief to religious minorities facing persecution and violence.”

In a statement on the resolution, Cruz said the CCP “fears anything it cannot directly control, perhaps most of all, faith. The United States has powerful tools to provide protection and relief to people facing persecution and violence, and we should use those tools unless and until China releases the members of the Zion Church.”

Coons similarly stated that the Chinese government has persecuted religious groups for years. “Just in the last few days, they’ve arrested Pastor Ezra Jin and other members of the Zion Church for simply doing what so many of us do each day: worshiping their God,” he said. “I urge President Xi to release them along with all political prisoners.”

Senators joining Cruz and Coons in the resolution are Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Tim Scott (R-SC), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Jim Justice (R-WV), Rick Scott (R-FL), and Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD).

Secretary of State Marco Rubio also condemned the crackdown on Zion Church, stating that the matter “further demonstrates how the CCP exercises hostility towards Christians who reject Party interference in their faith and choose to worship at unregistered house churches.”

Principal Dismissed Fears 6-Year-Old Had Gun Before Shooting Teacher

Jurors in Virginia heard emotional testimony Tuesday about how school officials allegedly ignored warnings that a 6-year-old student was carrying a gun before shooting his teacher at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News. Abigail Zwerner, 25, was shot through the hand and chest by her first-grade student on January 6, 2023, leaving her with a bullet still lodged in her body.

Zwerner’s attorney, Diane Toscano, told jurors that former assistant principal Ebony Parker dismissed multiple staff reports about the armed child. “Who would think a 6-year-old is going to bring a gun to school and shoot their teacher? Dr. Parker’s job is to believe that is possible,” Toscano said during opening statements, according to Fox News.

Parker’s attorney, Daniel Hogan, countered that no one could have predicted the tragedy, arguing, “No one could have imagined that a 6-year-old first-grade student would bring a firearm into a school.” Parker resigned after the shooting and faces separate criminal charges while serving as the sole defendant in Zwerner’s $40 million lawsuit.

Several witnesses testified that Parker was warned repeatedly about the potential danger. Reading specialist Amy Kovac told jurors that when she and Zwerner reported the child’s threats and behavior, Parker refused to act. Kovac recalled Parker saying, “Well, he has little pockets,” when staff urged her to search the boy. Ninety minutes later, the 6-year-old opened fire in Zwerner’s classroom.

Human resources director Dr. Nina Farrish testified that Parker later admitted she had been told about the gun before the shooting. Zwerner’s sister, Hannah, described how the young teacher has withdrawn since the attack, saying, “She’s just not the person that she was.”

Los Angeles Ranked ‘Rattiest’ City

Pest control company Orkin released its annual report for the “rattiest” city in the United States, ranking Los Angeles at the top. For the first time, the report said, the California city led both Chicago and New York.

The report explained that the shift signals changes in rodent activities, “likely influenced by weather patterns, urban infrastructure and human behavior.”

“With year-round warm weather, a booming culinary scene and dense neighborhoods that offer ample access to food and shelter, the City of Angels checks every box for rodent survival,” the report explained. “From bustling commercial corridors to hidden alleyways, Los Angeles’ signature blend of glam and grit creates a perfect storm for rodent activity.”

“Rats and mice are more than a nuisance—they’re opportunists,” said Ian Williams, Orkin Entomologist. “If there’s food, warmth and a way in, they’ll find it. And once inside, their constant chewing and rapid reproduction can quickly turn a small issue into a large, expensive one.”

Other California cities appeared on the list: San Francisco (4), Sacramento (19), and San Diego (24).

Residents of Chicago, the previous leading rat-infested city, told CBS News that the rodents are still entrenched within the city.

“In two months, I have killed 19 rats,” resident Bill Dillon told the outlet. “We have pictures. These are big rats.”

California’s rat-infested cities come despite thousands of people fleeing the Democrat-led state. Throughout 2024, California lost a net of 9,181 millennial households. New York lost the second-most, with 4,251. Illinois and Massachusetts also lost a significant number of residents.
