First Lady Melania Trump announced that eight Ukrainian children have been returned to their families after being displaced in the country’s war with Russia.

“A child’s soul knows no borders, no flags. We must foster a future for our children which is rich with potential, security and complete with free will. A world where dreams will be realized rather than faded by war,” Trump said, noting that she and Russian President Vladimir Putin have had an “open channel of communication” since they exchanged letters in August pertaining to Ukrainian children present in Russia.

“My representative has been working directly with President Putin’s team to ensure the safe reunification of children with their families between Russia and Ukraine,” she stated. “In fact, eight children have been rejoined with their families during the past twenty-four hours.”

“Each child has lived in turmoil because of the war in Ukraine. Three were separated from their parents and displaced to the Russian Federation because of frontline fighting,” the first lady explained. “The other five were separated from family members across borders because of the conflict, including one young girl who has now been reunited from Ukraine to Russia.”

“Russia has demonstrated a willingness to disclose objective and detailed information reflective of the current situation,” she added. “The Russian Federation provided biographies and photographs of each child involved in this week’s reunification, along with an overview of the social, medical, and psychological services afforded to the Ukrainian children.”

The first lady recently unveiled the Fostering the Future Together initiative during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The initiative invites nations to support the well-being of children through education, innovation, and technology.

‘Get Out of My [Expletive] Shot’: Resurfaced Katie Porter Video Sparks Backlash

A newly resurfaced Katie Porter video shows the embattled California Democrat yelling at a staffer to “get out of my [expletive] shot” during a 2021 virtual meeting, triggering widespread criticism from within her own party and renewed scrutiny of her treatment of subordinates.

The Katie Porter video, obtained by Politico, captures Porter scolding a staffer who appeared in the background of her online meeting with then–Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm. When the aide corrected her comments about electric vehicles, Porter snapped, “You also were in my shot before that. Stay out of my shot.”

The timing could not be worse for Porter, who is running for California governor and has faced years of allegations of abusive behavior toward staff. This week, she also threatened to leave a media interview, saying, “I don’t want to have an unhappy experience with you … And I don’t want this all on camera.”

Democratic strategist Gale Kaufman told Politico, “Is this a disaster? Yes … it amplifies what her reputation already is.” Rival candidate Betty Yee urged Porter to withdraw, saying California needs “a trusted, respected leader … not a viral embarrassment.”

Comparisons to Minnesota senator Amy Klobuchar quickly surfaced. Like Klobuchar, Porter has been accused of fostering a toxic workplace and verbally abusing staff. In court filings, her ex-husband alleged she once dumped boiling mashed potatoes on his head, shouting, “Can’t you read the [expletive] directions?”

Porter dismissed the uproar with a recycled defense, saying she holds herself and her team to “a high standard”—a response CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski mocked as “a canned I’m mean to my staff statement.”

Taiwan Announces Massive Defense System Countering China

Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te said that the country will construct a multi-layered air defense system called the “T-Dome” to defend itself against increasing threats from China.

“The increase in defense spending has a purpose; it is a clear necessity to counter enemy threats and a driving force for developing our defense industries,” he said, going on to list Taiwan’s “three major goals.”

“First, we will accelerate our building of the T-Dome, establish a rigorous air defense system in Taiwan with multi-layered defense, high-level detection, and effective interception, and weave a safety net for Taiwan to protect the lives and property of citizens,” Lai said. “Second, we will advance the integration of high-tech and AI technologies to build a smart defense combat system, maximizing effective deterrence for our asymmetric strategy.”

“Third, we will continue to invest in innovative defense technologies and collaborate with the military industries of advanced nations to bolster our defense industry capabilities. We will strengthen our domestic supply chains through local R&D, design, and manufacturing,” he explained. “This will enable Taiwan to accelerate industry upgrades, enhance the resilience of our military equipment, and boost the capacity of our defense industry.”

Lai’s address further discussed trade negotiations. “Moving ahead, Taiwan will sign bilateral economic and trade cooperation agreements with even more friends and allies while upholding the principle of mutual benefits,” he stated. “We will also actively engage in reciprocal tariff negotiations with the US to secure a reasonable rate, resolve the trade deficit between Taiwan and the US, and deepen industrial cooperation. This will enable Taiwan’s economic development to become more globally connected and thereby make great strides.”

In July, Taiwan launched its most expansive military drills amid the threat posed by China. The 10-day live-fire drills included those aimed at countering the Chinese Coast Guard.

Exposed: Left-Wing Hypocrisy on Full Display Over Trump Peace Deal With Hamas

Democratic lawmakers and progressive activists spent two years demanding a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. But now that President Donald Trump has delivered one through the Trump peace deal, those same critics are attacking it—claiming, without evidence, that Israel will soon violate the agreement.

Disgraced former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan fumed on X, writing, “I love that we live in a world where we’re all supposed to now praise Trump for his peace-making and ignore the fact that at least 20,000 Palestinians have been killed on his watch.” Hasan went on to claim Israel will resume fighting once hostages are released, saying, “There’s literally nothing and no one to stop Netanyahu and Israel from resuming the war/genocide once they get all the hostages back.”

The Trump peace deal requires Hamas to disarm and release all 48 Israeli hostages. Yet far-left figures like U.N. official Francesca Albanese, anti-Zionist writer Peter Beinart, and Quincy Institute vice president Trita Parsi have already questioned its legitimacy. Albanese mocked Israel’s compliance, writing, “‘Ceasefire’, in Israel’s dictionary: you cease, I fire.”

Parsi told CNN the deal could become “a disaster” if Israel limits it to “just a ceasefire.” Beinart insisted, “There will never be real peace… until Palestinians are free.”

Meanwhile, Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar called for Israel to face prosecution for “war crimes,” even as hostages prepare to return home under the agreement.

Despite critics’ outrage, the Trump peace deal marks the first comprehensive ceasefire both sides have accepted since Hamas launched its Oct. 7, 2023, terror attacks that killed more than 1,200 Israelis.

Four Found Dead in Million-Dollar San Francisco Home in Suspicious Deaths Probe

Four people were found dead Wednesday afternoon in a million-dollar San Francisco home, as police launched an investigation into the suspicious deaths.

The grim discovery came at about 1:23 p.m. on the 900 block of Monterey Boulevard, in one of the city’s more affluent neighborhoods, during a welfare check by the San Francisco Police Department. All four victims — believed to be family members living in the home — were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their names or ages.

“This is a very rare occurrence in this neighborhood,” said Officer Robert Rueca, an SFPD spokesperson. “This area rarely sees any type of activity close to this.”

Two unnamed sources told KTVU-TV the deaths are being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, but police have so far classified them only as suspicious. The department’s homicide unit is leading the probe, while the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Neighbors described the victims as a quiet family who moved to the area about a year ago and regularly decorated their home for the holidays. “We didn’t hear anything or notice something unusual,” said Belinda, who lives next door.

Police continue combing the house and surrounding neighborhood for evidence, as the community grapples with shock over the unsettling incident.

YouTube Launches Program for Banned Creators

YouTube is launching a program to allow creators previously banned from the platform a “second chance.”

“We know many terminated creators deserve a second chance – YouTube has evolved and changed over the past 20 years, and we’ve had our share of second chances to get things right with our community too,” the company explained in its official blog. “Our goal is to roll this out to creators who are eligible to apply over the coming months, and we appreciate the patience as we ramp up, carefully review requests, and learn as we go. Not every type of channel termination will be eligible.”

“We’re looking forward to providing an opportunity for creators to start fresh and bring their voice back to the platform,” wrote YouTube.

The development comes as Google announced in September that it would offer YouTube accounts to creators who were previously removed for their views on COVID-19.

“The Company terminated channels for repeatedly violating its Community Guidelines on elections integrity content through 2023 and COVID-19 content through 2024,” the company wrote in a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH). “Today, YouTube’s Community Guidelines allow for a wider range of content regarding COVID-19 and elections integrity. Reflecting the Company’s commitment to free expression, YouTube will provide an opportunity for all creators to rejoin the platform if the Company terminated their channels for repeated violations of COVID-19 and elections integrity policies that are no longer in effect.”

Johnson Turns Up Shutdown Pressure on Democrats as GOP Concerns Mount

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), is standing firm on his strategy to pressure Senate Democrats into ending the government shutdown, now entering its tenth day. But some Republican lawmakers are growing uneasy as the standoff drags on.

In a private call Thursday, Johnson briefed House Republicans on the state of negotiations, according to Fox News Digital. While most members backed his decision to keep the House out of session until Senate Democrats agree to vote, several raised concerns about the optics of staying away from Washington.

Reps. Jay Obernolte (R-CA), and Julie Fedorchak (R-ND), urged Johnson to reconvene next week, arguing that “it’s damaging to continue to keep the House out of session.” Johnson reiterated that lawmakers would receive 48 hours’ notice before returning but made no commitment to resume immediately.

The speaker also rejected a standalone vote to pay the military during the shutdown, calling it a Democratic ploy for “political cover.” Critics, including Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA), warned that troops could miss their Oct. 15 paychecks if the impasse continues.

Meanwhile, frustration is also brewing over Senate rules. Reps. John Rutherford (R-FL), and Tom Barrett (R-MI), questioned why Senate Republicans haven’t used the “nuclear option” to bypass Democrats and fund the government. Johnson, however, defended the Senate filibuster, warning that ending it could backfire if Democrats regain power.

The shutdown began after Senate Democrats rejected the GOP’s continuing resolution (CR) seven times. Republicans say their proposal keeps the government open through Nov. 21 and protects national priorities, while Democrats are demanding concessions on healthcare and other domestic spending.

For now, Johnson is betting that political pressure — not compromise — will force Democrats to the table.

Family of 6-Year-Old Boy Stabbed to Death ‘Sickened’ by Killer’s Early Prison Release

The family of 6-year-old Logan Tipton, who was brutally stabbed to death during a 2015 home invasion in Kentucky, says they are “sickened” after learning the man convicted in the attack has been granted an early prison release.

Ronald Exantus, 42, was serving a 20-year sentence for assault in connection to Logan’s killing when he was released last week, according to state records. Despite confessing to the stabbing, Exantus was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity — a verdict that has haunted the Tipton family for nearly a decade.

“Me and my siblings, we are fearful of what’s to come next,” Logan’s sister Koral Tipton told The Will Cain Show. “I saw the man in my room killing my brother. And now he is just free? It doesn’t make sense.”

Logan’s mother, Heather Tipton, said she still feels helpless. “My heart was already broken, but it really broke me when they basically told us nobody killed Logan,” she said.

Kentucky officials said the state’s Mandatory Reentry Supervision law (KRS 439.3406) required Exantus’ release, even though the Kentucky Parole Board unanimously voted for him to remain behind bars.

The ruling has sparked outrage nationwide, prompting a statement from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who said the case shows a “failure of justice.”

Heather Tipton says she now wants federal action to prevent similar outcomes. “Something has to be done,” she said. “He should not be free.”

Trump Cancels Meeting with Chinese President

President Donald Trump announced that he canceled a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping after it was revealed that “very strange things” are happening in China.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that China is “becoming very hostile, and sending letters to Countries throughout the World, that they want to impose Export Controls on each and every element of production having to do with Rare Earths, and virtually anything else they can think of, even if it’s not manufactured in China.”

“Nobody has ever seen anything like this but, essentially, it would ‘clog’ the Markets, and make life difficult for virtually every Country in the World, especially for China. We have been contacted by other Countries who are extremely angry at this great Trade hostility, which came out of nowhere. Our relationship with China over the past six months has been a very good one, thereby making this move on Trade an even more surprising one,” he wrote. “I have always felt that they’ve been lying in wait, and now, as usual, I have been proven right! There is no way that China should be allowed to hold the World ‘captive,’ but that seems to have been their plan for quite some time, starting with the ‘Magnets’ and, other Elements that they have quietly amassed into somewhat of a Monopoly position, a rather sinister and hostile move, to say the least. But the U.S. has Monopoly positions also, much stronger and more far reaching than China’s. I have just not chosen to use them, there was never a reason for me to do so — UNTIL NOW!”

“I have not spoken to President Xi because there was no reason to do so. This was a real surprise, not only to me, but to all the Leaders of the Free World. I was to meet President Xi in two weeks, at APEC, in South Korea, but now there seems to be no reason to do so,” he added, noting that the Chinese letters were “inappropriate.”

“For every Element that they have been able to monopolize, we have two. I never thought it would come to this but perhaps, as with all things, the time has come. Ultimately, though potentially painful, it will be a very good thing, in the end, for the U.S.A. One of the Policies that we are calculating at this moment is a massive increase of Tariffs on Chinese products coming into the United States of America. There are many other countermeasures that are, likewise, under serious consideration. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump concluded.
