Norway Ending Most COVID Restrictions

Norway is lifting the remainder of its COVID-19 restrictions, crediting mass vaccinations for the country’s recovery from the pandemic.

  • The country of Norway is putting an end to the vast majority of their COVID-19 restrictions citing their widespread vaccination as the reason for the increased freedom according to The Blaze.

THE RESTRICTIONS BEING LIFTED:
  • Reports indicate that Norwegians will no longer be required to wear masks in public spaces when the restrictions are lifted.
  • Additionally, they will not be required to adhere to social distancing, which required roughly 3 feet of space between individuals in public places according to the AP.
  • Those exposed to COVID-19 will no longer be required to self-isolate following the revocation of the lockdown put in place in December.
BACKGROUND:
  • Prior to the December lockdown, Norway opened the bulk of society again in September of 2021, according to USA Today.
  • Conservatives in the area reported that following the removal of restrictions there was a 40% drop in reports of COVID-19 infections and the number of hospitalizations decreased.
