Newsom’s Family Buys Multi-Million Dollar Luxury Home in Marin County, California

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s family recently purchased a multi-million-dollar luxury home in Marin County, raising eyebrows as Californians face ongoing economic challenges.

Local reports, including from the San Francisco Standard and San Francisco Chronicle, confirm the $9.1 million property was acquired on November 14 via a limited liability company controlled by Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom.

The 5,600-square-foot home is located in Kentfield, a wealthy community north of San Francisco with a population of just over 6,800, according to the 2020 Census.

Housing prices in the area are known for being steep, with current listings ranging from $999,000 to $21 million. The median home price in Kentfield last month was $2.8 million, making the Newsom family’s purchase nearly three times the median price.

Described as “architecturally stunning,” the three-story home features six bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, and an open floor plan. Its chef’s kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows highlight the luxury of the property, allowing natural light to pour in.

This high-profile purchase has drawn criticism as it comes amid heightened concerns over California’s affordability crisis, with many residents struggling to make ends meet under soaring housing costs and rising taxes.

Newsom’s purchase highlights the growing disparity between political elites and the average Californian, fueling further scrutiny of the governor’s leadership during these challenging times.
