Newsom Encourages Biden to Debate Trump

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom says President Joe Biden should debate former President Donald Trump for the upcoming election.

When asked by “Meet The Press” moderator Kristen Welker if the two should go head to head, Newsom said they absolutely should.

“100%,” Newsom said on the NBC News program, adding, “Pure projection on a guy who refused to debate in his own primary. Back to my point: weakness masquerading as strength.”

The California governor also defended Biden against concerns about his age and his ability to serve a second term.

“It’s because of his age that he’s been so successful,” Newsom said.
